What should his punishment be, if any?

Lindsay Thomas was heavily scrutinized only a couple of weeks ago when he was pushed in the back and proceeded to heavily exaggerate the contact (a five page thread ensued here: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/should-thomas-go-to-the-mrp-for-his-dive-tonight.1071780/).

In this case Bartel doesn't appear to receive any contact at all before launching himself forward.

There won't be punishment, but it will be interesting to see if Bartel was still being asked about it in three weeks, as LT was yesterday on a press conference about his 150th game, and if it keeps coming up - or if (more likely) Bartel is Teflon.

And Bartel's was much worse than LT's - there was no contact to his back at all and he flew forwards anyway.

I'm just glad it was there for all to see. Prime time audience and all that because the media pump up his tyres no end and North supporters will remember he pulled the same stunt in from of goal that cost them 4 premiership points a couple of years ago.

Bad dive. Really bad dive.

No. For all we know he curled his body in an attempt to avoid injury leading into finals. Then he got a free, what was he supposed to do? Turn to the umpire and say "Nah sorry mate I don't deserve it"

No but it makes for an awesome gif
