I doubt the Sixers ever wanted Bennett. Getting the pick is their recent MO.

Having Young and Bennett as the power forward rotation is infinitely preferable to either one of those and Mbah a Moute or Hummel as a backup. If they are any shot of giving the young guys a chance to develop they need some depth and talent around them.

Bennett will show something, I think given another oppotunity he'll shine, Im not expecting him to become one of the best PF's around but if he can average 10 points and get his jump shot confidence back it'll be a win

Bennett was definitely more desired than a first rounder in the 20s. There wasn't nothing behind those early Bennett to Sixers rumours, but whether Flip ever actually entertained the idea is doubtful. And it makes sense why. We don't hold any leverage over a player that's leaving at the end of the season. Fairly indifferent to what we got, even though the circumstances would say it's about right, but that's just because Thad was the ultimate team guy.

But I am looking forward to watching Minny this year. More so than I have in any other year even with Love.

Zgoda with some interesting info:
- Shabazz will be doing multi-week Chameleon Training with a guy that has trained special forces personnel. Expects him to be 15 pounds lighter by the season's start.
- Flip thinks Bazz can play some four.
- Flip will have a look at Gorgui at PF.
- Flip said it will be tricky to find GRIII a roster spot but seems to expect him to be on there.
- Plans to give Gorgui more time over Pek to ensure Pek stays healthy.
- Wolves are hiring a specialist shooting coach. Rubio and Budinger are already working with one in LA.
- Zgoda thinks something will happen with Barea - even if it is buying him out.

We piled off a couple of expiring contracts, our roster space was pretty tight so it saved us a bit of money to keep Bennett, Plus, the bloke was a number 1 pick
