Was just thinking about our 9-0 and thought how we nearly always kicked the first goal. Then was thinking of how we never seemed to give up the lead after that. So I decided to go through the games and try to work out manually how often we were either in front or equal (may be small errors due to it being done at 2am)

Total game time - 1138:04
Total time in front - 1006:31

Thats just incredible, even more so that 55 of those minutes came from the Essendon game, which means the other 8 games we were only behind for about 76 minutes. In 8 games.

Even more so in those 36 quarters, we weren't behind at any point in 27 of those.
So only 9 quarters in 9 games were we behind at some point. In the other 27 we were at worst equal at any point in that quarter.
Also in those 9 games we only lose our lead after quarter time a total of 5 times (including twice against Essendon)
This 9-0 run is even more impressive than we thought.

Heres the times for each game

Round - Team - Time In front (or even) - Total Time
Round 15 - St.Kilda - 128:06 / 128:06
Round 16 - Brisbane - 114:32 / 114:32
Round 17 - Port - 119:26 / 131:10
Round 18 - West Coast - 116:35 / 127:47
Round 19 - GWS - 109:26 / 114:07
Round 20 - Essendon - 64:06 / 119:10
Round 21 - Adelaide - 118:22 / 131:34
Round 22 - St.Kilda - 117:16 / 117:16
Round 23 - Sydney - 118:42 / 124:11

oh, I get it. THIS is whats its like barracking for a GOOD team. we get to do this stuff now. W should probably ask people from the Geelong and Hawthorn boards for help with this.

They're probably to busy with their hair.

It's great being in front all game, but it's more important to be in front at the end of the game.

Really, we could have lead for 9 minutes out of those 1138 total minutes, and as long as they were the last minute in each of the 9 matches I would not have cared.

IMO shows the importance of scoreboard pressure and our improved offense!

Haha this is great, we were infront before the match even started :D

Would be interested to see how many points we kicked/conceded in first halves vs 2nd halves in that stretch. We usually start like a house on fire then slow by the end of the 1st.
