Exactly
Anyone writing Sydney off after today's dead rubber have NFI!

That's how the AFL world spins around. I would also assume that with many, Geelong just became the flag favourite—for their dominant second half.

I still don't think that they are as good as all the wankfest though. The reason they lost today had nothing to do with McGlynn and Kennedy, it was the fact that their avenue to goal was out.

Or that it was wet and a dead rubber for them?

I wouldn't be surprised if Buddy enjoyed his final year at Hawthorn less than his previous years because he had the cloud of a secret hanging over him. He knew he was turning his back on the club, his coach, and his mates - and that's a big thing to carry around all year.

What a pity Lance didn't have a good word to say about the many players, coaches and support staff at Hawthorn who'd helped him realize his potential and become the player he is now. To me that says a great deal about his character.
Unless you were present at the interview, how do you know he didn't, and the journo just chose not to include it?

This is where the media spin gets caught up in its own web.

We have been told that buddy approached Sydney in October 2012.
This article is saying that, despite playing with his best mates in a premiership, he didn't enjoy it.

Well no s**t - he had committed to the enemy (supposedly) well before that.

Franklin is a fair chance to get reported this weekend.

He has always struggled with the lift in intensity.

While others around him can attack the ball with vigour, he has a history of losing his head and swinging his arm into someone, bumping late or just generally going over the edge with a moment of stupidity.

It will be interesting to see if he can navigate Freo without losing his cool, as they will most likely put a lot of work into him.

At least he has no carryover points so unless he murders zac it will be a reprimand

But then again, look at his guernsey.

The worst thing for Sydney is that this weekend showed how important Buddy is to them. They looked lost going forward, and downright laughable when Goodes was the leading target.

In a more chaotic and intense game, with defenders getting away with more we are gojng to see him get a lot more attention. Yes, more than usual - Tippett doesn't cause too much havoc unless it's against us or a bottom 8 side, and the other forwards just aren't marking targets.

Stop buddy and Kennedy (easier said than done) and the swans look very ordinary.

This is his best year ?

2007 - 73.62 in 22 games
2008 - 113.88 in 25
2010 - 64.42 in 18
2011 - 82.61 in 22
2012 - 69.64 in 19

As everyone can see 2008 and 2011 are pretty much untouchable and the rest are compareable. Absolutely flogs would say that this is his best year or could it be that he has a different jumper on that makes senile trash talkers like MikeSheahen making that sort of embarrassing comments!!

It's obviously because his heart wasn't in it and may have appeared disinterested in his last year that have led to this light bulb moment by many in the media and declared it "BEST EVER"

It's that or everyone at Sydney is just s**t and they make him look good

Kennedy and McGlynn also both underdone, having not played much leading in.

Would love to see him get suspended and it cost the Swans a flag.

I'd have thought true joy & schadenfreude for those still feeling jilted by Buddy (seriously folks, get over it) would come with him playing; either when the Swans miss the GF, or they go down in the big one.

Remember it isn't just based on goals and behinds. Yes I agree that they have overplayed the best season ever thing, but he has still been very good, kicking goals but also getting involved and getting teammates involved.

Yeah, but "best" year is way too much.
