Here 'tis! Expect a postcard or two in the next few weeks assuming I get around to it. Maybe by Monday there'll be a photo of the Eiffel tower in here!

How is their economy going, what are the locals saying?Hi all,
I'm now travelling slowly through Puglia. Since I last wrote a postcard I've been back to Rimini to stay with friends, and had a week in Bari. Although Bari only warrants 2 or 3 days it is useful as a base to do lots of day trips from.
There are so many beautiful little towns along the coast, very very old and full of history, and the beaches (I use that term loosely) are stunning. The water so clear.
I'm now in Ostuni, known as the 'White City'.
Manic Magpie you first told me of this place, and I had planned to come here last year. I had to cancel those plans but finally I'm here.
It's very beautiful, small and 1000 years old.
Attending another language and I'm the only person there this week so enjoying private conversation lessons . Lucky me!
The weather has been very hot, the south is full of holiday makers, but it's very lively and enjoyable.View attachment 75764
Polignano a Mare - simply stunning. There are many grottos along the coast and they're wonderful to swim in.

Yes Maggie I've been here a few times in the last 5 years. How is their economy going, what are the locals saying?
Do I recall you visiting Italy before? If so, is it more expensive now? Accommodation, food, travel?
Great photos by the way.
Thanks for this, shame about the unemployment. Thought that Italy would be better off than say Greece as they still have quite a bit of manufacturing in addition to tourism.Yes Maggie I've been here a few times in the last 5 years.
I don't find it more expensive, other than accommodation in august because it's the high season.
Food is excellent and relatively cheap (for me)
In general the economy/country is in dire straits, especially employment opportunities for young people.
Tourism and food production keep many areas alive.
near home (Warrandyte).
For me riding is a non prescription antidepressant. Side effects have included fitness, weight loss, and a love of the outdoors.
