Mitch Clark discussion - Geelong gets the flog

I am pissed at the pies too, along with Clark & his manager.

Imagine if the shoe was in the other foot & one of your top 3 players decided to pull the pin on his career & retire. Receives his huge pay out but was still a listed player until seasons end. That top 3 retired player then continues getting assistance from your club including your head fitness guy & his specialists helping him get back into physical shape & starts leading you to believe that perhaps he may be able to make it back to AFL level.

You then find out that your retired top 3 player is having a meeting with a rival club about launching a playing comeback before actually sitting down with his current club. This new club hasn't approached his current club to get clearance to speak with your top 3 retired player though, which his current club did do prior to speaking with that clubs player!

I'm sure that would be ok with the pies if the shoe was on the other foot though!

Be Exact Same Thing - I be pissed as you guys but I still rather get something like a 3rd Round Pick then getting Nothing at all

I honestly hope the club play hard ball & if need be lose him for nothing.

We aren't respected by anyone else in the league because we've been a basket case for the past 8 seasons & we only have ourselves to blame for that!

What we can do though is show we won't be dictated too or walked over by players or other clubs & actually show we have some backbone & conviction to make tough decisions.

He'll probably still get to Collingwood either via ND or PSD but he would have a nervous wait & him, his manager & pies would be the bad guys & not us.

I'd prefer Mitch stayed with us

*sadface*

That is No Surprise and that what I expect all Melbourne Fans to Fell.

But sadly for Dee Fans he does not want to stay - For What ever the Reason is

I realise this

still all *sadface* though

Through some pretty tough years, he was one who offered fans genuine hope

He did look very good when he Played and I can see why Dee Fans that Very Sad

At the rate Mitch was going in 2012, he would've finished with 58 goals (Riewoldt won the Coleman with 65)

If i was Melbourne i would tell Collingwood to take their pick 50 and stick it where the sun dont shine, the polecat can go in the draft.

I highly doubt that will happen in Real Life

Can this thread become MFC Fans only, please.

I'm getting sick of this Collingwood fan telling us how much he empathises with us losing our best key forward to them for a stick of gum.

The moral high ground would be nice but it didn't help St Kilda when they lost Luke Ball for nothing. Of course, Port did the same thing when they lost Nick Stevens.
In the end, how this episode will be reviewed will depend on how the player's and club's fortunes. Ball went on the win a flag while Stevens joined a future wooden spooner. The message is to get something (however poor it may be seem) and trust that your coaches will develop that draftee into a better long-term prospect than Clark.

I love the Stevens one, port refused to trade him to a team that finished higher than them so they just let him go. Then once Carlton picked him up Stevens suddenly said he wanted to get picked up by a club like a Collingwood or Carlton. As for luke ball did Collingwood offer a player and St Kilda didn't take it. For some reason Wellingham comes to mind.
