Dangerfield might be on the way out.

Do we do a Sydney a give him a grandfather deal?? 25 next year so 6 or 7 years in him

Genuine superstar

As much as I would love him to come, I doubt GWS would be his preferred destination. He would certainly add a lot to our side.

If a trade were to occur, we would have to give up Pick 3 + young gun to get him.

It's fun to talk about but as if we need the mid?! Our defense was the biggest area for improvement last year and while it improved this season it needs to continue next year as well. The fastest way is of course to bring in another experienced player. If we get a big name (or even an established player) they need to be a backman IMO

All this dangerfield chat is a pipe dream

Just like Franklin, I think he's a very good player who isnt a fit for us.

At today's GF lunch SOS was asked about the talent in the draft, he said it was a very even draft with plenty of talent, got asked three times, finally when pushed he said "Well, there is this Italian kid, Petracca", in a way that made me think we are either trading into pick 1, or seriously considering it.

Hawthorn and St Kilda are among the clubs waiting on the decision of out-of-contract Giants onballer Jono O'Rourke on whether the former No.2 draft pick will seek a return home to Melbourne. Carlton and St Kilda are both interested in GWS key defender Kristian Jaksch, who has told the Giants he wishes to return home to Melbourne. Carlton's first pick, No.6, is considered too much for the player on his own without an extra player as part of the deal.

Stephen Silvagni has declared he wants Canberra's Jack Steele to join the Giants, convinced the Belconnen Magpies onballer is destined to be drafted into the AFL this year. But Silvagni said the Greater Western Sydney Giants may have to fend off interest from other AFL clubs when the bidding process for Academy players begins on October 6. Steele's draft selection would be a major breakthrough for the Giants' development program in the ACT region.

But it would seem were not prepared to pay any higher then a 3rd rd pick so if someone is willing to pay a round 2 pick then he will end up with them

It is understood Steele would be viewed as pick at about 40, although other clubs could rate him much higher and trump the Giants.

Someone would have to bid higher than pick 22 (ish) for us to have to use our round 2 pick, so they'd have to rate him much much higher than pick 40 to force us to use that.
