Collingwood 2015

Come on Tarks. The cattle he has is rubbish. You'd have probably nabbed another flag if he'd been at the helm.
We'd have probably nabbed another if he hadn't too.

Played an injured Molloy in 2002 in a game we went down in 9 points in wet weather. I'm not saying it definitely would've been a game changer but we would've been much better served with wet weather specialist Mark McGough in the team.

2011 was a fiasco. Had the perfect match up for Hawkins in Tarrant, had a lame Reid and refused to bite the bullet and make the change that needed to be made. Terrible coaching performance that day.

no nathan is a crap coach living offf Micks game plan

Yeah...

Buckley may have his faults but just copying the 2010/11 gameplan isn't one of them. Anyone who thinks that hasn't watched a Pies game for a long time and probably shouldn't comment as it may make them look like a clueless twat.

I don't think any of their supporters are overly confident of contesting the flag next season, to make finals even seems a little unlikely. But the main question is how long will they stay down, and I don't think they will be down for very long at all.

I'd expect that this is a false dawn for Collingwood haters expecting them to drop away for an unsuccessful "era", most choose to ignore that they have been rebuilding for a couple of years with multiple first round picks, and they already had a young list performing pretty well.

2012, 13 or 14. Which one do you think MM would have won?

The jury may be out on Bucks, but let's not forget mick had 10 years to get that flag, and then only went out and recruited jolly and ball when under the pump. He cost is back to back with his spoilt brat lost his teddy bear behaviour. And for what it's worth, he told Collingwood supporters in early 2011 that he was happy with the change over, he had had enough of the pressure of coaching, and was happy to step back. It was a private conversation at a function in Tassie that he attended with Maxy. And then he spat the dummy, and screwed us. May he now rot in his hell he made.

Next year? Who knows, but Karma is a bitch, and there's a lot wanting us to fail!

are you sure you're an essendon supporter?

Wont make the eight.

If they get a couple of injuries they could finish bottom 4.

Interesting to see they got rid of their a couple of their medical staff over the weekend, not too sure what to read in to that considering their horror run of injuries last season

It's overstated how far off the pace Collingwood were this year. Sure, we weren't realistic premiership contenders at any stage, but we finished a game and percentage outside of the eight, with a massive injury list, and 3-4 games in the second half of the year which we dropped that you'd probably have penciled in for wins at the start of the season. Round 13 against Western Bulldogs (8-point loss) and Round 16 against Gold Coast (5-point loss) were especially winnable, and if we had snagged those two, we finish on 13 wins in 7th place, and people would probably see that as a decent return.

With another year of experience into the squad and a better run with injuries, I don't think a 6th-8th place finish is unrealistic in 2015. All told, I don't think teams like North Melbourne, Essendon and Richmond (all of whom Collingwood beat in the first half of 2014) are/were really that much better than the group of teams below them (West Coast, Adelaide, Collingwood, Gold Coast).

Beams is a massive loss, no doubt, but there's still plenty of talent on the list, and the list is now very young - after trades, retirements and delistings so far, the Pies have just six players over the age of 26, and just one over 30. This will be the third season in a row that Collingwood has had at least two first round picks in the National Draft, and the second in a row where we've had two top 10 picks, and we're yet to see anything from last year's pair yet. There's no guarantees with young players, of course, but on paper there looks to be plenty to come and plenty to look forward to in the future from the Magpies.

If they perform badly next season then Bucks now has the excuse of "it's a young team" and "need a couple of seasons to implement the game plan" you can just see it. Oh and this will be Eddie's line as well !

Have some of the worst footskills in the AFL and havent improved that at all with the risky recruitment of Greenwood.

And seeing as there'd be truth to the fact that the squad is very young, what exactly would the problem with citing that as a reason for poor or inconsistent performances? Why are other clubs allowed to have young, developing squads, and Collingwood can't?

Lost three of your best 10 plus Ball and Maxwell and with little coming in the other way. Cant see it.
Have fun with your 28th spoon next year. Reid and Brown will be back for a full year the young blokes will step up, Beams is one player it will hurt a bit but it is not the end of the world 2013 we played most of the season without him

McCaffer HARRY O Beams all gone no Ball or Maxwell. With little returning cant see it to be honest.

Aren't guys like Lumumba, Macaffer (who is still at the club, and aiming for a Round 1 return) and Maxwell considered spuds in the eyes of BigFooty 'experts' anyway?

Harry O and McCaffer finished top five in the Copeland with Beams Runners Up thats a huge loss.

So these guys are suddenly good players after you've bagged them for years?;)

Plenty of young players to potentially stand up, we get a better run with injury and we could sneak into the 8.

Well shows there isnt much behind them then if they are in your top 5. Other than Beams who is a home and away elite mid.
