Hi just wanted to create a thread on some stat leaders for our team on most basic stats i could find and then do a ranking on the top 10 of each to find our overall most complete 2014 player in terms of stats (i know not very comprehensive or meaningful, just wanted to do it and see where our guys ranked in stats). Based on averages on guys who played 8+ games. Any Anomolies e.g. 4 times the amount in a category will result in the the full points not being allocated e.g hitouts only players over 1 hitout average per game are allocated points. Points are subjective but follow a pattern of higher disparity in points between a large difference e.g. Schulz 10 for 3.4 marks inside 50 but 6 for 2nd ranked as they averaged nearly half.

Marks inside 50:
1) Schulz 3.4 (10)
2) Wingard 1.8 (6)
3) Gray 1.7 (5)
4) Westhoff 1.6 (4)
5) Monfries 1.2 (2)
6/7/8) Boak, White, Hartlett 0.6 (1)
9/10/11) Mitchell, Ebert, Wines 0.5 (0.75)

I know it's a shocking ranking system with no structure just a good basis for people to see where guys rank and their actual averages for each of those categories last year.

Nice one, it's interesting to see the different stat tallies anyhow.

What represents a 'critical error'?

if i signed up to be a premium member i could even see all these other advanced stats like work rate.

Check out http://www.pro-stats.com.au/

critical error is basically a clanger, that goes directly to the opposition.

O'Shea averaging 20 possessions at AFL level is a fair effort.

Also with errors is Lobbe top because it includes hitouts to opposition players or no?
And nah isn't hitouts, Lobbe is the only ruckman in the top 30 other than Stefan Martin.

I wonder where Ryder's 2014 stats would rank in a few of these categories.

Edit: Just looked on the Essendon website if you slip in his stats with Ports 2014 stats he'd be.

=5th for Marks inside 50
2nd for Hitouts
=10th for Tackles
=6th for Goals
=3rd for Clearances
4th for 1%ers

Haha excellent...if he can get those numbers playing for a steaming pile of s*** in Essendon I expect those to improve dramatically...

Given the heart-stopping, high-speed, aggressive way these guys are bringing it out of defence now in one way that is astonishing. But I guess we wouldn't have played in a PF if we weren't at that level.
Not conceding points and trying high-speed carrying out of defence is the go across the comp now and has made many games better this season - not just with us.

Unleash him into the midfield again and hopefully he can have gray like numbers from this year, bar maybe the clearances.

Was surprised at how similar HH's stats from 2012 are to his 2013/14 stats. Had felt that he really stepped up the last 2 years. I guess the big one for him has been his improved durability that sees him play in most games in the last couple of years.

The big step up i feel has been his change to more midfield (reflected in higher clearances and inside 50's and also kicking 37.37 as opposed to 5.6 in 2012.
