Vintage Sheedy. Most consistent hypocrite in the game.

Not really. Not sure exactly what he said, but #1 draft picks threatening to walk out during or after their first contract is definitely not good for footy.

Oh yeah and Sheedy has never had any involvement with anything of that sort has he.

That worked out pretty well for us... probably why I never remember it.

Scully was out of contract, it's not exactly the same. And that was a unique thing, it didn't set a precedent.

Arguably it did though, GWS threw a ridiculous load of cash at Scully, making an unproven talent the biggest money earner at their club, almost the league. The Bulldogs just did the same thing with Boyd.

Pretty similar.

Bulldogs threw an almighty wad of cash at a player who was 1 year in. He told his club to trade him or he would walk at the end I year 2.

GWS obviously dealt with Scully 1 year in, but they didn't need to trade because of their unique rules - they just told him to lie for a year before walking over for free.

Basically same s**t, slightly different smell.

I wouldn't be surprised if they dealt with him before he was even drafted. Attitude on draft night could have suggested as much.

That's besides the point. The Boyd trade is a massive massive risk for the Dogs. He needs to perform. Can he deliver?

Griffen wasn't. Either its an issue because its so early in their career or its an issue because they were still in contract.

Agree on both points

Definitely think gws were in his ear pre draft

Good ol' Handshakes throwing Mick and Carlton under the bus after things don't go his way. Never change Brock. Flog.

He and Magner could sit around for hours having a good cry about how hard done by they have been, and how those silly meanies at the AFL clubs never gave them a chance to prove themselves :cry:o_O:rolleyes:

Strange from Brock - at no point was he guaranteed a contract, and then he sulks that he wasn't told he would be delisted with 6 weeks to go in the season.

Typical from him.

He's not bitter or angry though. No sirree. Not one bit.
