McDevitt's response should be taken on board by Essendon. They've spent so much time with lawyers building up their case that they honestly believe ASADA is this evil, villain figure.

I hope all Essendon people stop and think about ASADA's true motives - protecting clean athletes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Pity the AFLPA don't share this motive

It's astounding. AFLPA think they're being honourable and have blindly accepted Essendon's version of events because they think it's their job to 'protect' the players, while ignoring the fact the greatest harm done to the players was by the club itself.

Where is AFLPA's anger towards the EFC?

ASADA didn't inject anybody without recording it.

Their was chat that other clubs coaches weren't very happy with how the Coaches Association, and Frawley, handled the Essendon saga. Wonder if players from other clubs are feeling the same way about the Players Association.

The consent forms were put in place because the players had doubts and wanted reassurance from the club that what they were taking was legal and safe.

Sensible possible sources of reassurance
WADA
ASADA
AFLPA
AFL
Your Manager
Your Daddy (if you are Jobe)
Lawyer, not employed by the club
Doctor, not employed by the club
Google

Silly possible sources of reassurance
The club you suspect might be doping you
Your coach who is employed by the club you suspect might be doping you
The sports science guy who you actually suspect might by doping you

BS the club has been protecting the players since the story first broke not once have they left them in the dark.

The club has been protecting itself first and foremost from the outset. The players are collateral in all of this. What do you really think is being spoken in the boardroom with Paul Little as chair.

Player welfare...BS. Little is concerned about a massive player led lawsuit if the truth ever gets out.

Simon Madden joining the board may have changed that.

That's not the way consent forms work. You sign them prior to any treatment.

If you do it months later after treatment has commenced then it stinks of people trying to cover their arse.

And in terms of experiments performed on humans, they must have informed consent prior to partaking in the project. If they don't get explained exactly what is being given, including the correct drug names and all the possible side effects and ramifications, those consent forms are never approved by an ethics committee as it is not true 'informed consent'.

Rent a a quote was on sen this morning, andy maher suggested he replace Mcdevitt.Andy we know which side of the fence you sit on this matter
Funnily enough Richard complains McD is "making it all about himself rather than the team". If you've followed his tweets from the beginning you'll understand how ironic that statement is.

They (the mouthpieces of the AFLPA) are (very) likely merely following the views of their members. When we are bagging out the AFLPA we should remember this. There may even be players at non Essendon clubs backing this (Crameri, Monfries etc not included).

I'm not so sure about this. Less than 5% of the AFLPA were involved in the doping program.
It's unlikely that a large number of the other 95% clean footballers, let alone a majority, feel that they should escape punishment.

I think they would want to see the AFLPA show support to the players tho. After all, this could have been any club with a Frankenstein complex.

Says a lot about the credibility of AFL "journalism".
"journalists" - lololol Should just be called "opinionists".

Investigation? Facts? Fuggedaboutit.

Once upon a time when newspapers wanted to publish "opinions" it was in the "editorial" section or "letters pages" or "columnists' pages".

Now every "news story" is largely an "opinion piece".

And they wonder why "journalists" have such a crappy reputation - up there with car salesmen, real estate agents and politicians.
