Played a team who were severely embarrassed last week,at home. Played a draining midweeker. Very happy with the win. You boys are tough judges. Sanchez was bought for 30 mill, he's worth double that, absolute steal. Love him.

Several teams contend with mid week games and then away league matches on the weekend. That's nothing unique to Arsenal at all.

Very happy with 6 points from our last two fixtures, but the room for improvement is significant. We've been fortunate with the results but that's football. Take the points and run.

Sanchez is the best player I've seen in an Arsenal shirt for quite sometime. van Persie's season the year we sold Cesc and Nasri was brilliant, and probably the best individual season I've seen since Henry in the glory days.

If Sanchez stays fit and hungry, he can do anything this year.

Saw none of the game, but from reading here, it seems it was a hard fought, dour win. Correct?
Sunderland had most of their team inside their own box for the majority of the game, we couldn't really create anything and had to rely on Wes Brown slipping up and putting though Alexis Sanchez for his 1st goal, then in the late 2nd half when we really should have already put the game away Sunderland started to come out and look for an equalizer, Cazorla had a couple of golden chances with which he sent both into row z, Ramsey had the oppurtunity to dish it off to Rosicky for a fairly easy shot but failed to do so, I was almost certain we would concede, especially with Gibbs coming off and shifting our backline around but luckily Mannone did us a favor and lost control of the ball and Alexis Sanchez pounced again for his 2nd goal.

We need Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cazorla out of the side ASAP and get Walcott in for ox and have either Wilshere/Rosicky in place for Cazorla.

Gibbs injured himself again. Monreal did yet another decent job at CB and Alexis Sanchez is a class above everyone else in our team.

There are midweek strolls and then there are midweek battles. Anderlecht was a battle and away from home. Sunderland were beaten by Southampton in the worst possible way, you never want to face a team after they have been humiliated, you will always get a response and the responded. 3 hard earned, beautiful points, don't care how it looked.

Totally agree with concept if what you're saying, but my point is we are our own worst enemy at times. We have the propensity to make the 'strolls' look like 'battles'. Nothing is easy at Arsenal, car crash fc.

Why rush Walcott back? He is coming off a serious injury and needs games to get match fit. Last time he was rushed back after injury he did his knee. Doubt Walcott will be near his best until next season.

Can see him making a sub appearance against Burnley. If we're going to drop Ox or Santi next week, would like to Campbell or Rosicky slot in.

I can now understand why Wenger decided to not bother with adding depth to our squad. We have players terribly out of form but are still persisted with.
Our hands are tied down back through injury and lack of depth, but we actually have options through the midfield.
Players like Campbell, podolski should be given a decent opportunity when players are out of form. They should at least be subbed on with enough time to impact a game and not after the 85th min.
Not only that but why not change the formation which obviously isn't working. Try 2 up front or rotate the mids, at least something to change things up.
Our formality has struggled without giroud so the right balance needs to be found which can only be done by change.

Watching the Man United v Chelsea game its clear that there is a night and day approach to defending between Us and them.

United, even though their defence is average, and Chelsea keep great shape and cohesion when they don't have the ball. You can tell they are coached by two managers that "build from the back" first.

We, in contrast always seem over stretched and out of position. It's easy to see that we are coached by a manager that favours "offense as the best defence" and considering our offense is struggling big time, we are looking particularly bad at both options atm.

Was interesting reading Mertesacker's comments last week regarding our style and tactics. Not too often you hear a player state this publicly.

Burnley at home on saturday who are a very poor side and we should win comfortably, but knowing us we will make hard work of it and get bailed out by Alexis late on.

Yeah doesn't surprise me.

There was an interesting article written last year talking about how when we were playing so well (before the feb/jan collapses) we were playing a much more conservative style. When we switched to the more offensive formation we started to see the defensive problems.

We were also content to concede possession % last season, before the collapse. Many of our victories came when the opposition had more of the ball.

This season we've reverted back to the predictable style of play, which is easily stifled by teams parking the bus against us. Plus the fact that we have too many similar attacking players. Far too easy to read.

The change of formation hasn't helped either.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we probably should've sold two of Cazorla, Podolksi and Campbell and bought another defender and midfielder.
