One of the most important men in Australia and Asia's history.

His first diplomatic posting was to japan , just before Pearl Harbour. they say part of his job was to stop peace. Considering everywhere he was posted in Asia since, there was regime change, including his last post as ambassador to Australia, there is something to those claims.

There was thread about the liberals best prime minister, i bumped it a few days after Whiltams death and quoted a user claiming Menzies was the best pm. I pointed out how Menzies allowed nuclear weapons testing in Australia and allowed British scientists to use our public as guinea pigs. In that thread a supermoderator claimed Whitlam wasn't a good PM. Said he was an important one, but not a good one.

The thread dissapeared very quickly. Rats of Tobruk isn't far of the mark.
