ROUND 11:
Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Hawthorn, Richmond, Western Bulldogs.

ROUND 12:
Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Gold Coast, St Kilda, Sydney.

ROUND 13
Geelong, North Melbourne, Western Sydney, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, West Coast.

Seems reasonably well-spread to me, round 12 probably looks the worst.

Surely they are taking the piss?

Second year in a row; Pendles, Swan, Watson, Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow, Ablett, Prestia, Jack, Kennedy all missing in the same round.

Not too many midfielders missing in Round 13 is a positive. Early upgrades the target for the midfield which makes things harder as the cows have had less time to reach their max cash generation. Here's hoping there's some decent cows up forward or down back this year.

I thought the same thing when i saw the fixture, why oh why would they do this to us again.

The most annoying part is that it's back even further in the season. Rounds 8-10 last year and I think rounds 4-6 when it was first introduced; the further back it is the more decisions it influences.

Actually they're back to where they were in 2013 and I'm quite happy with that. Being 3 rounds later than this year gives those initial rookies time to properly fatten up before being cashed in.

Not really happy to see the bye rounds still with us though, and not so much because of SCoach. There had been a rumour they might have been scrapped next year after the 3 weeks of sub standard footy they subjected us to this season. Not a good ad for the code at all.

True, but with only 18 scores counting I think that down/upgrading rookies before the bye is not quite as important (you can carry them through), so I would have preferred to have them out of the way early and get on with things. No biggie, will make do.

Damn AFL is out to get Sydney. How are we supposed to make top 2 when every other team gets an extra game?

So far without taking much consideration to byes, Round 12 for me is going to be a write-off.

Stuff the Byes. Planning for them cost me a fair few points last year. Rather deal with them when they come around than sacrifice the ideal team due to byes.

Agreed. Get the best team on the park for 7-8 weeks and then freak out about byes. So much can happen that you can't anticipate when planning a round 1 team around byes thats 11 weeks away

Agreed. Different with Byes starting at Round 8, but starting at Round 11 is a whole different proposition. Cash cows will have reaching their moo'ing limits by then.

Half your team will have changed by the bye rounds anyway, your not going to be holding all your rookies for 11 games.

Much of one's team might change but premiums from the onset unless injured do not, therefore stacking a team with premiums from the same bye initially will still cost points during that bye week. I still think a strategy whereby putting some precedence in selecting rookies with byes from the latter byes and upgrading them during their bye week for premiums who have completed their bye from an early round is a sound strategy in minimising donuts during those weeks.

I've just taken a look at my current team and the bye structure is a little lopsided, maybe in a good way though. This is how it's looking, I've divided my team up into rookies and keepers (or potential keepers).

Rd 11: 3 (keepers)/ 2(rookies)
Rd 12: 7/7
Rd 13: 5/6
