I know many don't like tiger air but for those that do there might be a bargain tonight for 2015 travel

On twitter from Flight Centre ...

Happy Halloween! To celebrate, TigerAir are releasing $13 fares from 8pm-midnight.

Looks tempting but ive only ever heard bad things about Tiger.

They are owned by Virgin now and apparently much better - if you don't mind the tin shed in Melbourne. Oh and don't be late for your $13 flight, it is likely to cost you $300

Do they fly into Avalon or Tullamarine?

Is the Thursday game against Collingwood going to be that "Festival of the Magpies" that the Premier wanted?

Hinkley says Power's new draw is near-identical to 2014
AS far as Ken Hinkley is concerned, there are so few differences between Port Adelaide’s 2014 and 2015 fixtures that no special attention will be given to what has been described as one of the AFL’s most difficult for next year.
The Age rated the Power’s draw the third hardest behind Hawthorn and Geelong, News Corp put it in a similar bracket and afl.com.au described it as “savage” and graded it a “D+”.
But as Hinkley points out, the Power will play 20 of the same 'teams' as last season, that is to say three re-matches - against Fremantle, Sydney and the Crows - have been programmed again for 2015

Typical Ken: no complaints, just a "let's get on with it" attitude. If North Melbourne was handed a similar draw, I suppose Brad Scott would be off to the Supreme Court to have it overturned :)

The part of the draw that I am not satisfied with is that we only get 1 match at the home of the GF, the MCG. The Hawthorn match should be there, they have 9 matches scheduled there. One of their home matches is against Melbourne at the MCG so the argument cannot be that they are only scheduling the ones that will attract the best crowds.

Although it could be that the AFL do not want to base a decision on potential crowd but instead wait until we have had a large H/A crowd at the MCG. Apart from our first ever match in 1997, which drew 51883 to see us play Collingwood at the MCG, the most we have drawn to the MCG is 37685 v Essendon in 1998.

It is actually because they need to give Etihad x amount of high drawing games and as funny as it sounds Port V Hawthorn is one of those, Melbourne v Hawthorn is not.

As disappointed as we are that the Hawthorn away game is at Etihad, that might be good because it's in the middle of August, could be pissing down with rain, which we evidently struggle in, so the game will be played under the roof on the fast, dry deck of Etihad. Also, Hawthorn don't play there that often themselves, it'll be our 4th game at the venue for the year as will it be Hawthorns.

I think we will win 16 games next year, improvement from 14 in 2014.

Ken is Port Adelaide.

The AFL will always jump at scheduling non vic v non vic blockbusters which is why we play Sydney and Freo twice. It allows them to then schedule all of their victorian blockbusters to try and maximise crowds (money). The ladder last year has played into the AFLs hands and we were always going to cop this fixture on the back of it.
