Hi chaps
I was just going through some old VHSvideos I have and discovered POWER PLAY-Port Adelaides debut season in the AFL on VHS cassete from Australian football video.
All very well and good but I no longer have a VHS recorder and am not sure if they still make them?
I have tried to find it on DVD but to no avail.Anyone have any clues or tips what to do to obtain a DVD?

The least efficient option is to buy an old video player. And that assumes you have a TV to play it through rather than a computer. The simpler option is to take it to one of those places that burn old tapes onto DVDs.

What Powerstufff said- give http://www.diskbank.com.au/video-to-dvd-transfer/ a call on Monday. Or a company like them. I tried to find a company in Alice Springs for you but no such luck. And also, when you talk to them, make sure they upload this show to YouTube so we can see it as well! :thumbsu:

Go to Dick Smiths, grab a converter.
Borrow the old school vhs from a mate (or head to a second hand shop and pick one up).
Plug all the equipment into ur comp (I assume you have one) and put the video on said computer.
Upload to Youtube and share the link with the rest of us.
Get out of Alice before s**t turns real bad.
Live a full and prosperous life (whats left of it anyway).

I used to work there, please don't. They charge like 40 bucks for them when they are available online for sub ten bucks. They make something like 32 dollars for every one they sell.

Too late.
The drunks have a stranglehold and I have come down with suspected fibromyflagia after 4 months of doctors visits.

Bugga...my wife's daughter has that ... wish you well

I don't know yet.I have been in pain for4months after I damaged my shoulders.I had Cortisone injections and that worked for about 10 days. Then I had blood test after blood test and they couldn't find anything wrong.they did find some parasitic amoebas in my stomach though and gave me a powerful does of antibiotics to wipe them out.At the end of the course I really went down hill with old hip and knee injuries becoming inflamed. I ended up going to another Doctor because mine wouldn't refer me to a rheumatologist. The Indian female doctor said immediately that she thinks I have fibromyalgia and referred me to a specialist.I hope it isn't because apparrently it is a real bummer and no cure.

I have a program on my computer to transfer VHS to DVD.

I have transferred many of my very old VHS tapes that have never been released on DVD or any other format

If you want me to I could do the transfer for you

That would be good.PM me with your postal details if you like and we can come to an agreement.

Glad someone has come to your rescue Dalphonso I was going to offer my services. It was only when I re-read the thread this morning that I remembered doing something similar for a Sturt supporting mate of mine. For his 50th I got hold of a copy of the '76 GF and transferred that to DVD for him.

Hard to watch but it was well received.

Commodore 64 had cartridges as well.
We had the Tape drive, that was the most tense I ever got as a kid, getting to 220 revolutions on the counter and hoping the game would start. Kids these days have no idea what we had to go through.

I later upgraded to a commodore 128D with a floppy drive.. I remember it cost a shitload and had a massive 128kb ram.
Powerful..

Why isn't "AFL" in the thread title?
I forgot.I can't work out how to edit it either as yet?All fixed
Anyway Asgardian has come to the rescue as I have posted it to him Yesterday morning. He did say not all cassettes can be copied but nothing ventured nothing gained.
