Probably want to hide him because it is just another in the long line of Sydney rorts and unfair advantages they have had and continue to get over the Victorian Sa and WA teams
It is a total crock, but "overrated" and "not worth a top 4 pick, let alone pick 1" are some of the sort of things I've heard said about Heeney, who didn't exactly dominate the NEAFL this year, despite it being about 4 levels down from say the SANFL seniors, where the likes of Neal-Bullen were churning out much better numbers than Heeney was in the immensely weaker NEAFL, and despite all the specialist coaching he's been getting from the Swans Academy. I think if Heeney is the best in this year's draft that would make Callum Mills (who they look like getting next year and who has apparently been more impressive in the NEAFL this year than Heeney, despite being a year younger) the next Chris Judd crossed with Gary Ablett Jnr!

In terms of the connections drawn between Lamb and BJ's attitude, I don't think they're all that accurate.

From the (admittedly limited) time I have spent around these two, I would suggest that BJ appears to be a bit of a dick because he is insular and downright shy/weary of people he doesn't know, whereas the source of Lamb's attitude is a more ingrained arrogance, in the mould of an "I don't have time for you" kind of thing. Externally similar, but the origins of these attitudes differ and are what defines the character.

Who knows how accurate my inferences are, but if they're true, then Lamb may well be the exact attitude we don't really want at the club.

Callum Mills definitely better then Heeney, and I'm not even quite confident the Mills is the best in next year's draft.

If you read into people on twitter than Petracca doesn't have the attitude that we want either.

Apparently self confidence isn't something we want....despite one of the better players i've had the pleasure of meeting in my time, Wirrpanda, admitting that sure off the field he was a really nice guy to be around and wouldn't read into himself....but then once you get over that line, if you aren't of the mindset that you can take almost every player on that field you won't make it in the AFL.

Couldn't agree more, I haven't watched Heeney or Mills play in the NEAFL but have checked there stats for the year and watched them at the champs and I wouldn't even consider Heeney in the top 5, i beleive he is very overated but in saying that the clubs/ recruiters know a lot more than us and he was nominated at pick 2. Mills looks a far better prospect though!

I'm off ANB now and hope we can get someone better.

Someone will be sliding surely one or two always do!

Also the Herald Scum has been running with Touk Miller a few times when mentioning St Kilda so maybe the mail i was told about us possibly taking him at pick 21 might have some legs.

But still i hope we can get a good slider if not give me my mate Touky. :D

Petracca, McKenzie and ANB is a 1,21,22 combo that's been hanging around a while now...

I'd be delighted.
That seems to be the safe bet. Using last year as an example of how we got Acres, all it takes is this years Apeness/Darcy Lang to go a bit higher and that throws in a Weller/Lamb/Marchbank/Blakely being available for us instead on ANB.

Bit hard to take a phantom draft seriously when it lists other possible players for our pick 20, then has us taking someone not on that list at 21 (eg: Hun draft)

I am away for work this week and will unfortunately miss the draft. I am submitting my final picks, not necessarily who I want but a guess as to who we might end up with:

Petracca;
Marchbank;
Cockatoo;
Nielson.

Enjoy the rest of the banter this week, hopefully we are all very happy come Thursday night. Go Saints.

If we get Marchbank you can cross off Nielson, very much doubt we'll use two picks on KPDs.

I don't think he'll last until the rookie draft! He may even go before our pick 41.
As a guy who stands proudly at 5'7" in heels, and still managed to get a kick, I really never felt too disadvantaged. You just have to add different skills to your bow. Like goal sense, pace, tackling pressure and hardness at the ball. Obviously you are not going to win too many hit outs in the ruck, but you'll always be thereabouts when it hits the ground.
I'm glad recruiters are starting to see that and not just rubber stamp guys who aren't seen as being tall enough

Personally, this is how I think the draft will pan out...

STK - Petracca
MEL - McCartin
MEL - Brayshaw
GWS - Pickett
COL - Langford
GWS - Laverde
GWS - Goddard
GCS - Duggan
COL - Moore
GEE - Lever
WCE - De Goey
RIC - Ellis
FRE - Durdin
ADE - Wright
GCS - Ahearn
NM - Cockatoo
ESS - Garlett
SYD - Heeney
CAR - Marchbank
ESS - Lamb
STK - Weller
STK - McKenzie
GWS - Neal Bullen
GWS - Steele
NM - McDonald
WB - Lamb
WB - Vickers Willis
CAR - Blokehurst
GCS - Blakely
COL - Cavka

How does this look? May have pushed Weller out a bit around that 17-20 area but it sounds like ESS are keen on Garlett and Lamb and CAR have a hard on for Marchbank despite them continually saying they will go for a mid.

If we were sure Marchbank was over his foot problems I wouldnt mind getting him and McKenzie with our 21/22 if it fell that way. Marchbank could definitely be that Fisher replacement.

Where's dewah....?

Marchbank apparently measured in at 191.7cm at the Combine - despite being listed at 193cm all year - so I have huge doubts as to whether he will be a KPD at senior level.

Everytime I think about it I get the feeling Spud gave it away mentioning Petracca a couple of times. Going to stop overthinking it now, we will go Petracca and it will be the right decision.

Whats everyones thoughts on McKenzie slipping in the BF phantoms? Do we think he is now a reach at 21/22 and do you think he can last til 41?
