Not exactly, severe head injuries tend to see patients stay ground based due to the impact the pressure in flight can have on the brain.

See the recent f1 incident with Jules for an example.

Given Hughes' relationship with most of the NSW team, I don't think anyone was in a rush to get back out there today. Would have been far more odd for them to come back out.

Some reporter on SEN said she had spoken to the ambulance people and they confirmed he has a serious head injury.

This was a life or death situation as I understand it. Abandoning play for the day seems right to me.

A broken leg is a bit different to collapsing unconscious, requiring CPR and a specialist team having to be flown in.,.

I think this is a bit more serious than a broken leg. I'd rather not take any risks.

Yeah just reading that he was worked on for half an hour on the pitch. That changes things.

If he got hit on the head and was merely stretchered off then I'd say carry on.

Given what I'm reading now, fair call to abandon play.
