And the fact that his defensive skill is towards the Ovechkin level. Watched enough Dallas last year and this year so far to see it, it is bleedingly obvious

Well let's compare their Fenwick stats over the past two seasons:

Seguin: 55.5% good for 27th amongst forwards (1820mins)

Ovechkin: 48.1% good for 220th amongst forwards (1829mins)

Similar? :D

Based on the fact that he's been on the ice for 20 goals against in 22 games.

What a massive liability Seguin's defensive work has been to his team while 5 on 5 this season...

Charky is a fan of plus-minus for some reason.

Seguin and Ovechkin's differential in +/- last season was +51 in Seguin's favour.

They're similar?

Seguin a +75 for his 305 game career.
Watch a game for once and stop being an arrogant campaigner ruining this forum. I would reply more if you didn't denigrate everyone who had a differing opinion, just pathetic.

He's not an arrogant campaigner for backing his thoughts up with stats when you seem to just make yours up based on who knows what.

Been a good start to the season. Opinions on this years fast starters?

Anaheim looking amazing again, still have to question whether it will translate to the playoffs though, certainly wouldn't be surprised to see them in the conference final, but have said the same thing for 2 years now.

Habs look great, as much as it hurts to stay, but still early days, they could definitely win the East if they keep this roster together for the season.

Bruins have put it together at times but injuries are killing us so far. Not foreseeing a huge dent in the playoffs, but if we can get the right guys out on the ice we could at least make a dent at the end of the season. Also was awesome to see our top 20 pick Pastrnak debut the other night, getting to play on the same line as his hero (Krejci) briefly must have been something else.

Also enjoying watching the Islanders so far, but it's bittersweet, Boychuk is definitely proving himself down there.

Demers reverted to type after 1 game!

I'm sure the Bruins fans don't care given his inability to defend.
Demers actually played that 2 on 1 break well. He waited then slid to take away the pass and firced a bad angle shot. Allowed kari to make an easy save. Was unfortunate the rebound fell directly back on gordons stick allowing the second shot on a sprawled kari. For his part...demers played it well. Very happy with him so far

Yepp, Razor said the same thing when watching the replay. People are just looking for reasons to bash Demers if they're going to use that play as an example.

Good win against the Avs. Bickell with the GWG! (I have a soft spot for the big lug) I now have a small hatred for the Avs. God they love to complain.

Kane has hit some form. 10 points in his last 5 games. We're 6-0-0 every time he gets 2 or more points

Patrick Roy: "5-on-5, we were the better team...they got away with things."

Those tears. :D

Not sure how you're going to win a game when you only win 25 of 65 face offs.

Also can someone dig up our PK stats? I'd say we're just about the best in the league? Huge improvement on last year.

Some of the biggest excitement was generated by a group of Edmonton Oilers fans sitting at ice level who had junior hockey star Connor McDavid's name taped on the backs of their jerseys. They alternated cheers for the Sharks with derogatory chants about the rival Flames.

Gold! :D

Should have kept his feet.

lol

ON a 2 on 1 break Every goal tender in the league will say they want the cross ice pass taken away, the best way for a defender to do that is slide down and stop the oppurtunity for a pass, which demers played perfectly (hence why Kari made a strong save). The kick save just went straight to gordon within a split second allowing an immediate second shot

It can be played without having to slide on the ice, watch ME Vlasic do it all the time.

Don't waste time arguing with the guy, honestly.
