Maybe he can at least swing between FF and FB. Unusual type but would be very hand if possible.

The endurance is more of a concern at FF than FB IMO

He needs a lot of work with his goal kicking technique also, but remember he hasnt played much footy, and has some great attributes.

Yeah, nah, worth a punt. Not excited as Nightmare on him but I think he could be a very good player. His endurance will probably limit him to various roles but he may have enough versatility to be effective at AFL level between back and forward.

Will we use our last pick in the Rookie draft ? If so who Could/would be a possible target ? Or are we using it to upgrade Miles ??

Absolutely great investment!

Has anyone noticed that the highlights seem to get better with our picks. Ellis looked good, Mountain looks real good, Drummond looks great and Mckenzie looks like a great next option after the Bean

Good, good. It is catching on!

Cliffy Ellis hopefully lives up to pick 12 menadue looks a likely prospect for the year 2020 the rest I'm very impressed with I'm glad they were forced to go with 2nd and 3 rd options for those picks as I feel they were most likely better options

Shifter just said on the Fox coverage that Menadue will be a star. Similiar to a Bob Murphy.
From the videos he is the one that got me excited ..looks like a classy quick ball carrier...Very happy with Ellis especially as he is a left footed clearance specialist that we don't have in our midfield..Our last pick does look a steal .. How was such a talented tall with an accurate kick still there at 77..... Imagine if he turns out better than Mcartin just like Vickery has been with Watts..

For those interested, here is Knightmare's thoughts on the Tigers draft:

The summary is Ellis adds some skill. Higher than I would have taken him myself but he can have a long term career with the class he adds which is still good enough.

Menadue is a strong get and a guy you'll love to watch. His sidestep, explosiveness but then footskills as well. He has as much wow factor as pretty much anyone in the draft. Skinny so he'll take time but had a BIG final to conclude the season and good value at 32. He isn't a sure thing but the kind of guy where if he puts on some more size and improves the contested side to his game could become an absolute monster.

Drummond went about where expected. Can win it inside. Overager. Exceptionally athletic and explosive and has an ideal pace/endurance combination. Decision making and ball use can lack some consistency. But in the 50s few are perfect. If he cleans things up he may develop.

Butler has exceptional pace and agility and can really take guys on but is another where he needs to clean up his footskills if he wants to make it with some inconsistencies there.

R.McKenzie for me is the bargain of the draft. I had him at 6 on my draft board to put it in perspective and only behind Moore and McCartin as key forwards (just). He has the scope to be the best in this draft class if things go right so I'm really excited to see long term how good he can become. Don't expect an impact early, as a big guy he will take time adjusting to bigger bodies, but give him his 4+ years and he could take the mantle from Jack Riewoldt as that go to forward in the front half.

It's a real x-factor theme overall with Ellis for his skills then Menadue, Drummond and Butler who are all terrific athletes and R.McKenzie as a potential monster up front. Overall a good draft, mostly due to the Reece McKenzie factor for me anyway with Menadue for where he was picked that other guy I relatively like considering where he was picked.

Carlton with a very risky draft, would be funny if they were all busts yet again

Could have had Boekhorst at 28 and Laverde/Goddard at 19. No wonder Luke Williams left. Their recruiting is terrible.

Goddard at 19 does more for them than Boekhorst does.

Also, this is probably the first time I feel that Francis has nailed his draft picks outside of the first round. I feel more confident in all 4 of these players carving out a decent AFL career than any other draft crop FJ has done.

Also, lol at another Mc in the side.

F: McDonough, McKenzie, McBean

Hows that for a forward line. McRichmond strikes again.

Man I gotta say I'm stoked with this draft!
Ellis will be a solid player with a beautiful left foot.
Menadue, lightning quick endurance player with skills, our own Isaac Smith.
Drummond is probably ready to go, fast and solid.
Butler looked average for the first minute then suddenly I started really liking his highlights, very happy.
And Mckenzie, from all accounts an absolute steal. Big beast which we haven't really had in a while.

Overall, great haul Tigers!

Ellis- happy with, think he becomes a very good player and will prove a lot of people wrong
Menuade- Was hoping he would get to 33, could be a very very good player on a wing/off half back with his dash and carry, good pick up
Drummond- Has a lot of good traits and probably the most likely to play games next year, good pick at 52
Butler- Nice small forward with midfield potential, ticks off a list need
McKenzie- Not sure if we were even planning to use this pick originally, but glad we did. Gave my thoughts in his thread but potentially the steal of the draft.

Overall pretty happy and I think we have drafted some good players outside the first round which is a good sign!
