Yeah I think they are figuring the best way to bat is to just got hard at the ball. It will keep your mind a little bit more on the task at hand which is important when a ball is flying at you.
Danny Morison is pretty cringe worthy.

What. a. session. When even Williamson is getting in on the act, you know there is some kind of directive. Expect Taylor and Anderson to come out and play a similar way. They could be 100 in front by stumps

It wasn't just one ball. It was defensive bowling, there were 5-6 balls that pitched outside leg stump. Fair to be warned.
interesting that umpires are much more likely to warn the bowling team about defensive bowling than they are intimidating bowling
