Yes they have started selling. They took their figures down last year too, something shifty going on or else they are tired of being constantly compared to Port.

over on the cows board (for memberships) their is a lot of complaining (with quiet a few saying they haven't got their information yet)

HAWKS
2008 - 41,436 first time hit 40k
2009 - 52.5k, and then 53.9k and 56.2k next 2 years
2012 60,841

Port
2013 41,010 - afl adjusted to 39,838
2014 55,705 - afl adjusted 48,968 SMA member reallocation accounts for 5.3k adjustment.

So if we get 60,000 tuen we are ahead of the hawks in terms of growing our supporter base once we got off the bottom and started having on field success.

Without a secondary market too. We need success, which I believe is coming, but we also need sustained success, to make sure some of the band wagon element sticks. It will be interesting what happens with Hawthorn's numbers when their slide comes and they potentially move or are kicked out of Tasmania by the AFL.

21/11 - 1396
24/11 - 2583 (+1187)
25/11 - 3459 (+876)
27/11 - 5119 (+1660)
28/11 - 5777 (+658)
2/12 - 7024 (+1247)
3/12 - 7626 (+602)
4/12 - 8148 (+522)
5/12 - 8665 (+517)
8/12 - 9531 (+866)
9/12 - 10023 (+492)
10/12 - 10521 (+498)
11/12 - 11106 (+585)
12/12 - 11883 (+777)
15/12 - 12870 (+987)
16/12 - 13915 (+1045)
17/12 - 14715 (+800)
18/12 - 40120 (+25405)
19/12 - 42625 (+2525)

Well, that startled me so much that I even made an error with my maths. A membership to the human race for whoever can spot it.

Sustained success is the key as well as making 3 GFs in a row. 5 top 4 finishes and 6 finals series in 7 years and 7 in 8 years if you go back to 2007 season.

The Hawks have locked in Tassie for years to come. They have been playing there for moore than a decade.

+2505?

Human race?

... nah ... I'll stay in country NSW :)

In our most successful period to date, from 2001 to 2004 our memberships barely changed. They were :
2001 - 33296
2002 - 36299
2003 - 36425
2004 - 36340

And the year directly after the flag was 36834.

All the years we were at AAMI our membership varied from a minimum 30605 in 2009 to a maximum 37627 in 2012. The greatest single increase in our pre-AO membership was 5326 in 2011 and every year from 2010 showed an increase, even though we were going through our worst period. I think this showed that a lot more people were getting on for the long haul, and could see success was on the horizon.

Garry Lyon's "irrelevant" comment may have helped a bit. There is nothing a South Australian likes more than proving a Victorian wrong.

"They're saying Bell Park's got nothing to play for ... Be stuffed - we got nothing to play for" Ken Hinkley inspired 3/4 time GF speech, Bell Park FC, 2003

Love the sig. ;)

I love Kenny's speech then ... he likely hasn't changed in 10 years
