How much for a hard working borderline 2s player ?

Was looking at the updated NFL By-Rules for 2015 and came across this change. Looks like the league are adding to their money grab scheme, what's everyone's thoughts and obviously they don't spell check their documents before they publish them

29. MELEE RULE
Definition – An incident involving six (6) or more players and/or officials who are pushing, grappling, wrestling or otherwise struggling with one aother and which, in the opinion of the umpire(s) is likely to bring the game of Australian Football into disrepute or prejudice the interests or reputation of the NFL or the competitions conducted by the NFL.

29.1 Incident and Penalty Procedure

a) In the event of a melee taking place and the following three (3) continued instructions from the umpire(s) to break up the melee, if the melee continues, the umpire(s) shall report the incident to the league. The field umpire(s) appointed by the NFL shall record on the umpires match report at the conclusion of the game and incident where the melee has taken place. This will include the quarter and the position on the field where the melee took place.
b) Such form shall be signed by the umpire(s) and a copy of the umpire match report containing notification of the incident handed to each club as per normal match day procedure.
c) Fines shall be charged to the clubs account
d) All melees occurring during NFL finals games will be referred directly to the board for consideration with regard to penalty.
29.2 Penalties
Penalties for melees during home and away season;
Team 1st offence (in one season): $100
Team 2nd offence (in one season): $150

I reckon this should not be a Club responsibility (unless their players are involved every week) but as all games are videod all players involved receive a fine and for the second offence a week, that's the only way to stop them.

Looks like I hit a soft spot here mate, cant wait for the relegation game Eltham v mont
From what I hear I think the Doggies will struggle & are a likely candidate for relegation at this early stage. Limited numbers on track which was always a worry with a few of their older boys, no youth, 2014 recruits not all committed & club not flushed with cash. If they avoid bottom would be an achievement in itself.

Always at this time of year there are numerous ex AFL players linked to NFL clubs.
Obviously not always good acquisitions eg Ty Zantuck, Jay Neagle
But instead of flogging a the dead horse that is Big Footy's bagging of players. Was curious who people think the better ones over the years have been?
Sinclair and Murphy were brilliant in the Heidelberg domination period.
Cloke has proven me wrong, average AFL, dominate and imposing NFL player
Moorecroft would make the all time NFL team.
Shane Harvey, see Moorecroft
Going back now.
Neil Brindley best of his time
Fatui Ataata at the Berg was integral in the drought breaking premiership. ((Turns out he only played magoos at Collingwood)(Also wasn't the drought breaker of 1986 but the 1990 Premiership)) Still a belter of a name.
Athas Hrysoulakis, granted a massive plonker. Was unstoppable at the bloods.

No doubt ive missed a couple, but im trying to work here lads!!

Agree with you on Neil Brindley played at Boro juniors before heading to Collingwood & returned was a jet before playing good footy with me down at Rye for a few years.
A few players at North Heidelberg being Spider Shaw (Fitzroy/Preston) & in the 70s Jezza Cipolla from Northcote VFA was a master. Won league medal in 1974 in a side that won four games. Later dominated for Lalor towards the end. Kevin Grose as an enforcer & leader was pretty good. At Diamond Creek Wayne Headlam former Essendon was a gun. Monty had Leigh Adamson & Grant Wilmott around the time of their last premiership.
