For most of our existence while we were at AAMI we were writing cheques to the SANFL because our attendances were below a set level. The SANFL only just started providing significant financial aid to us in the past few years, and a lot of that was in fact AFL money that they were administering. Earlier this week an SANFL insider put a perspective on the negotiations. “How long do you think the discussion would last if we were having this dispute with the ground managers of Etihad Stadium?” he posed? “Exactly one hour”, he said. “Because that was the contract we signed. You got what you were promised.”

So the view of the SANFL is that because we were held to ransom when the move was made to AO the it is perfectly fair for them to continue to grow fat on our efforts? Especially when we have built up the matchday experience which, by the way, we pay for in police costs. The SANFL are acting like 1980s banks who would get you to stick to the stringent requirements of their mortgages. And like the banks it may take 30 years for them to bend to public pressure.

Another point - where does this "insider"(probably Studley) get this time of 1 hour from? Out of his hat? And why is any reference to Etihad stadium even relevant here?

That statement in itself is the key to the problem as I see it. If more is being generated than expected surely the logical place for it to go is to those who generated it. The model should be flipped on its head so that it's the SANFL that gets the flat amount and all profits above - and losses below go to the clubs.

*that being said it appears the only reason the SANFL get a red cent is the notion they own footy in sa- they don't appear to lift a finger at AO for the money.

How has Cornes made this assumption that KT is despised at Norwood. He says Facebook. Does Cornes even know how Facebook works? Unless you look at a very wide cross-section you are likely to only find the people who have a grudge. Think about it, he asks Norwood supporters about a former son working for the auld enemy, the question asked is how do you feel? Only those with a gripe would answer, the rest wouldn't worry. Or maybe he put a quote up and based it on 'likes'. You can't do that, any quote will immediately attract 'likes'.
The result of surveys depend on who is asked, where it is asked and how it is asked. Anything can be bent to your ends.
