I have new Primordial on order and can't wait.

Been on a bit of a Testament binge today with my fav album still "The Gathering". Awesome stuff. Read that their new material is in the same vein as Gathering as they wanted to head back to that direction. Good news with the last couple being a little metal-lite in my opinion.

Hour of Penance - Regicide.
Infestus - The Reflecting Void.
Kampfar - Djevelmakt.

I like that era too The Gathering and Low albums are quality. Testament hasn't made a bad album in my opinion. Should be in the Big 4 of Thrash Metal, but that's for another day that opinion, I'd probably offend somebody with that opinion. LOL

I didn't mind 2014 for metal. I think i really enjoyed Blut aus Nord, Mare Cognitum, Saor, Winterfylleth, Woods of Desolation, Pestilential Shadows, Darkspace, Harakiri for the Sky.

Ghost Brigade, Taake and Bloodbath were alright too, didn't like the Agalloch one too much but i only listened to it once, is it worth going back to?

Good fun band they are. I got the album Shock Troops!!! I found them via Tankard who did one of their covers "We're Coming Back" and finally listened to the original album where that song came from. Indeed it is good stuff.

Yeah I think Agalloch is worth going back to - its a real grower...

I'll give it another listen then i think! It didn;t really sound like an Agalloch album on first listen if i have to be honest, but i will check it out again. :D

I think all Agalloch albums are like that first, they need time to fully appreciate them.

I thought 2014 was a good year for Heavy Metal, so many good releases missed out on my best of list
