I love Behemoth - Satanist. Sounds like a more brutal Demigod and not as techy as the last couple. To me it sounds genuinely evil, almost a "**** you, god. You didn't kill me."
My top 12 Albums of the Year in no particular order for 2014:
Accept - Blind Rage.
Behemoth - The Satanist.
Cannibal Corpse - A Skeletal Domain.
Dark Fortress - Venereal Dawn.
Doom:vs - Earthless.
Hideous Divinity - Cobra Verde.
Hour of Penance - Regicide.
Infestus - The Reflecting Void.
Kampfar - Djevelmakt.
Ophis - Abhorrence In Opulence.
Winterfylleth - The Divination of Antiquity.
Vader - Tibi Et Igni.
EP of the Year:
Mournful Congregation - Concresence of the Sophia.
Australian Release of the Year:
Belligerent Intent - Eternity of Hell And Torment.
My top 5 discoveries of 2014:
1. Decaying - Finland - Death Metal.
2. Abnomality - United States - Brutal Death Metal.
3. utensil Sparrer - England - Old School Punk Rock.
4. Disentomb - Australia - Brutal Death Metal.
5. Mourning Dawn - France - Black/Doom Metal.
My Best of list.
I have new Primordial on order and can't wait.
Been on a bit of a Testament binge today with my fav album still "The Gathering". Awesome stuff. Read that their new material is in the same vein as Gathering as they wanted to head back to that direction. Good news with the last couple being a little metal-lite in my opinion.

utensil Sparrer have been a favourite of mine for years. Good stuff.
Holy s**t, I forgot about Sargeist . Thanks for reminding me. Need to go find Satanic Black Devotion later. Don't have a turntable at the moment but have the LP pressing of Tyranny Returns somewhere.
Speaking of metal and books..got this little beauty not so long ago....

I didn't mind 2014 for metal. I think i really enjoyed Blut aus Nord, Mare Cognitum, Saor, Winterfylleth, Woods of Desolation, Pestilential Shadows, Darkspace, Harakiri for the Sky.
Ghost Brigade, Taake and Bloodbath were alright too, didn't like the Agalloch one too much but i only listened to it once, is it worth going back to?
Yeah I think Agalloch is worth going back to - its a real grower...
I'll give it another listen then i think! It didn;t really sound like an Agalloch album on first listen if i have to be honest, but i will check it out again.
New Dark Funeral song/clip.
... Meh.
Really not a fan of the new singer, also preferred Matte Modin's drums to this guy.
