Big Bash League - Big Semi Final 2: Perth Scorchers vs. Melbourne Stars

So instead of another full house home final for the Scorchers, they've decided to play it at some 15K dump in the middle of nowhere. What the **** were they thinking? If they really wanted a game in Canberra they should've just gotten the Thunder to play one of their matches in there instead of scheduling a final. A serious WTF moment.

Nah, it makes sense surprisingly

Not all grounds are available for the final - so the only thing fair is a neutral venue determined prior to the event

The best place to host a final is the MCG. Frankly if you want to make it a big match. Host it at a big venue! It's not that hard!

Didn't watch, but it's hardly a choke if you lose to the higher ranked side.

May have something to do with ICC World Cup preparations at the larger grounds. 3 days difference isn't much but it's a passable excuse.

If CA had some sense, first thing tomorrow, or even now during the broadcast, they'd announce what grounds, apart from ANZ stadium, were unavailable for the final, as they'll be (another) backlash against the Canberra decision over the next 24 hours. There's been a lack of clarity over what the problems were. (apart from the packed schedule)

^This.

On another note, the Stars suck. Our bowling is fine, but our batting is shocking. Get rid of White and Quiney, open with Handscomb and sign players who don't take 20 goddamn balls to get going.

Scorchers are lucky though, not having any players taken for international duty.

Tell you what else I loved tonight - the intent that Carberry showed with the bat. Wasn't a flawless or flowing knock but he got on with it and did a good job overall. Averaging 43 with a SR of 127 - not bad!

Take it every day of the week after a tardy start, much like the stars
