Beyondblue Charity All-Stars Fantasy Series

Hi All,

The Bigfooty SFA Community (the Fantasy Football League) has recently decided to get behind beyondblue and conduct some fundraising through our event, an All-Star Exhibition Series. The efforts of beyondblue to raise awareness and provide resources for recovery, management and resilience are well worth our support. It is a cause that many within our league are passionate about. In just a couple of days, we have managed to raise over $600.

Any donation to our cause made by Tuesday, 3rd February will make you eligible for selection in our first ever charity All-Stars Exhibition Series. In a nutshell, it will be a best of 3 series where teams/squads are "drafted" from the pool of eligible players and then face off in simulated fantasy games (your username is a player in the game, basically, and you can kick some goals or dominate through the middle without lifting a finger).

We have opened this up to the main board to share our cause and concept with a wider audience and, hopefully, attract more donations to a brilliant cause. Of course, there is the added bonus of some potentially new posters getting a taste of the SFA in the meantime.

  • For more information about the concept, the cause and how our event works, please see the OP - HERE

  • For more information about the SFA in general and what on earth our Fantasy Footy League is, please see the OP - HERE

MOST IMPORTANTLY, to donate to a brilliant cause, please follow this link: https://give.everydayhero.com/au/bigfooty-sfa-community-charity-match

What's awesome is the support we've raised from our own, already in three days we've donated more than $600.

What prompted this for us has been a few posters who have recently opened up on our board about personal struggles they are going through, only to find out that so many of us have all gone through the same thing, and come out better for it on the other side.

Great initiative and I encourage people who wouldn't normally go to the sfa board to get behind a great cause. As danoz mentioned, a few posters have stepped away or opened up due to person issues and it's really highlighted the importance of mental health, so this is a great cause to get behind. :)
