I wonder what Dave Nonis is doing in Manchester tonight...

Not only should they pick up Richards, but they should pick up Paul Bissonnette as well.

Pittsburgh outshooting the Devils 36-11 and are down 0-1 :D

Interesting:

Clarkson @ $5.75M until 2020
Richards @ $5.75M until 2020

Just a coincidence they have the same cap hit per season and contracts end at the same time?

If anyone is asking about a Clarkson buy out, his contract is some how structured so that there is no real value for Toronto to buy him out. They are stuck with him.

Both have 15 points for the season as well.

Felt sorry for Schneider. Could not have played any better. Pens just looked a class above on the man advantage and even 4 on 4.

Worth noting that the Canes are now 7-2-2 in January.

Kane threads the needle to Toews who puts into the back of the net. Beautiful.

Damn missed the first 10 minutes, thought it started at 2.30

2:30 is the San Jose game tomorrow.

Patrick Kane now 2nd in the Art Ross race. Imagine if he didn't have a putrid October?

Terrible non-call there. Got away with one :D

Kane with his 2nd, and Sharp with his 4th assist. Great outing.

Also,

• Clarkson is on pace to amass just 25 points.
• Four hundred and twenty-three players have accumulated more than his five assists so far this season.
• Not one of those five assists was a pass directly resulting in a goal.
• Clarkson holds just a single point in nearly 100 minutes on the power-play, that lone point (a goal) coming on the final day of October.
• Clarkson has gone 39 consecutive games without a power-play point.
• His 22 minor penalties are the sixth-most of any forward in the league.
• He has just two goals in the past 23 games.

It was really funny. Nobody really noticed that the contract was basically buyout proof until late last season when Tyler Dallow mentioned it a couple of times.

With that said, the reason why it's considered buyout proof is because most of Clarkson's contract is actually paid via guaranteed signing bonuses as opposed to a salary. So if the Leafs buy him out, they have to buyout almost everything. There's almost no discount. That's like 25 million they'd have to pay out. So for most teams that'd be a no go. But MLSE can handle that no problems. I don't think the signing bonus thing impacts the actual salary cap implications of the buy out, so if they're fine with 2 million in dead cap space for a few years...There was almost no value in buying it out last season but maybe in a season or two it'll be feasible

It truly might be the worst contract ever.

The best thing about this one is that he's somehow not even in last place for this

For shame Matt, for shame

And I thought the Bickell contract was bad.

I reckon Carey Price just confirmed player of the month honours vs AO8 this afternoon.

Ties Patrick Roy for Canadiens' shutouts with 29 (Price with 149 less games, different era the key to that stat).

Back to back 1-0 with same goaltender and same GWG (Pacioretty), not sure that's happened before. :thumbsu:

McDavid and Eichel are really starting to sweat now with all these Leafs losses (12 losses from 13 games). Chronno down to 24th, BJ's and Devils only a few points behind sitting in 25th and 26th with games in hand.

I reckon the Leafs will finish 26th which gives them an 8.5% chance of getting the first pick.

As the standing sit today the Kings would have a 1% chance of obtaining the first pick.
