It was great to see Maxwell decide to bat like a proper batsman- and funnily enough he ended up playing his best innings for Australia

Until he reached 70 when for some goodness knows reason he started swinging like a drunk!

Good day at the cricket today. Who would of thought going to the cricket that maxy would top score and take most wickets ( and it being his highest score and best bowling figures) !? :p

Faulks is just a deadset gun, and haddin copped it heavy from the crowd running out the crowd fav (Marsh), rightfully so.

With how deep the Australian team bats, he can be excused for going the tonk in the powerplay.

Mitch is a North fan I think, he was walking around the ground with Brayshaw at the game last season.

Both definately North fans, Mitch was at training last week.

So, you mean a year. Because that was end of 2013 and its the start of 2015.

Also FC record means **** all in relation to ODI cricket. Actually it means less than **** all.

I should of said Domestic record not FC. His List A average is just that, average.

He has averaged 21 for 20 games mate. The runs he scored in India were an aberration. He is a very average batsmen that can slog some ordinary bowling around the ground when the time comes. Every time a quality attack puts him under pressure he is found out.

It was shown during his thankfully short test career that he does not have the technique to last for long periods against good hostile bowling. All well and good to back away and slog someone who is bowling 120km on tiny grounds, but another matter entirely to bat well against someone bowling 140km outswingers on responsive pitches.

We need to strengthen our middle order badly as Bailey, Maxwell, Haddin is a very soft middle order. Hopefully Clarke can come back into the team and add some security there.

What about the runs he scored against England? Aberration? what about the West Indies runs? Aberration? and NZ? Aberration.

The only aberration is the fact that you can turn on a computer.

Getting personal is what you would expect when you have no clue what you are talking about. Pathetic effort.

Clarke is a better player than him. Smith is a better player than him. Marsh is in better form and is a better player than him (or at least will be). I could stomach him over Maxwell but tbh they are much of a muchness really.

Bailey doesn't deserve a spot in a full strength Australian team.

Wow he scored runs against the Windies. What a hero he is. Runs in NZ?????? He has played one ODI against them ever (shows how clueless you are).

His average against South Africa is 29.63. 28 against Pakistan and 26 against Sri Lanka.

He averages 56 against the might of the West Indies. And 80 against those renowned bowling superstars India.

It shows clearly that good bowling sides find him out easily.

What's his average v England? Good to see you didn't include that one as it just proves that you are making a fraudulent case by cherry picking stats as you want.

You might also want to check the stage of the innings Bailey has come in at. He has come in late a fair amount and that always affects the average when he goes for the slog. The typical uneducated cricket fan however just looks at the average column and assumes that is the be all and end all.

42. Exactly the same as his current career average.

The time he comes in can be both beneficial or detrimental. Yes he may have to slog, but can get himself a not out to boost his average as well. Guys like Mike Hussey didn't have their average affected by their position in the order. Faulkner currently average 48 and he always comes in below Bailey. So that argument does not stand up to scrutiny.

His form has been so bad lately that he does not deserve to be in the side. As he does not do anything else in the team other than bat (a pretty average fielder). An average of 21 for the last year or two is just not good enough from a specialist bat that has no other strings to his bow.

Staggers me it's even that high. He has been absolutely dreadful. Now even worse he isn't even getting out quickly but instead sucking up nearly 3 overs worth of deliveries for stuff all runs before his predictable dismissal. #### off Bailey you extremely limited cricketer.

He didn't have a good big bash either.

Hope he can come good in the two warm up games.
