It would be nice to have a nice clear definitive set of rules that contemplates all the permutations with regard to recruiting, but little surprises like this makes the off-season so much more enjoyable :)

I think we have until the week before round 1 to fill all the spots. So I think the Academy boys will be hoping to impress in pre-season training/games.

Surprised both haven't been picked up anywhere.
Not sure we can get Hitchcock since he's 24. Injuries have screwed him up a lot but he still has something to offer at state league level.

norwood were close to full strength, only had 2 maybe 3 of their best 21 out. our team had about 8 that will play regular sanfl football. some of tonights team wont even be in our academy squad.

It is a meaningless setup. just a hit out for Hocking to decide on final contracts. Still we have no depth, and never will, unless we are allowed to promote players ahead of an afl listed player. You know what I mean.
