I reckon the top up players will be playing out of their skin to try to impress. I mean, this is the best shot at an "audition" any state leaguer has ever been given for the AFL, and there's going to be 14 of them!
Some of them have been trying to impress for a long time.
Sometimes you just are what you are, and thats why they didnt make it OR came to the end of careers.
Id be very surprised if this is a springboard for any long term contracts.

Plus its Essendon so i hope they all play crap:D

You have to admire Barrels. Can picture him on the titanic doing a best 22 of crew left and then updates, after each lot jump from the ship. Love his positive approach to always getting an updated best 22 out there.
Be harder at Thermopylae.

And the Injectors.... At least as far as the Top-Ups go...

Chapman and Giles are the only "older" players playing for the top up druggies apparently.

So i assume Goddard isn't playing.

I agree, watch Clint Jones have a 40 possession game.

James Hird, while searching for top-ups, begins to hallucinate champion players from household objects...

I thought Eli was a bit of a Daisy mark II too. He has a similarity and it's not just the hair.
Ever since the first time I saw his highlights package I immediately thought Daisy and then that was just strengthened when I saw him live at last year's intra-club, as he even ran exactly like him. It was uncanny.

Given the growing list of defenders injured, isn't this a good time to get Nathan Wright on the park?

Out: Roberton Savage Ray Billings (all inj) Holmes Saad Curren
In: Hickey Dunstan Saunders Markworth Minchington Wright Goddard

Goddard and Saunders were already in the 29 man squad. Just didn't play last week.

welcome back Luke dunstan, High Goddard, Minchington

really happy to see wright back. Just need to get some miles and match practice into him. Real chance for acres to cement a spot off half back in the next two months. Sinclair is a exciting chance depending on how they see saad v lonie. Play lonie and perhaps upgrade Sinclair?

Hickey and longer will test the two ruckman theory. Will be interested in how goddard goes. IMO he perhaps replaces roberton in the half back line but does this make us to top heavy?

looking forward to seeing them take the game on, quick movement through the centre. Exciting afternoon in store.
