If either Port or Norwood win the premiership this year than collectively the two clubs would have won more premierships than all the other SAFA/SAFL/SANFL clubs combined (note that South Adelaide shared the premiership with Victorian in 1877 #lolsharing).

I'm too young for the 1990 saga but wasn't there a school of thought that the bigger sanfl clubs (esp norwood) shouldn't have gone so hard against Port's bid for the AFL given they might have been next in line for a license?

I for one would have loved a Port, Norwood and Glenelg or Sturt selection of teams in the AFL rather than the just the crows. Mind you a true everyone against Port reprisal in the last 2 yrs has been a pleasing development.

glenelg?

the woodville woodpeckers had a bigger claim to an AFL licence than glenelg

It wouldn't and couldn't ever happen but Port against Norwood AFL style would be a real rivalry not one manufactured to sell beer or bakery products.

It would be one that would have an underlying current of respect for achievements past not be fuelled by a manufactured pure hatred from those with an axe to grind or cry babies with wounds that fester and flare up to have the scab torn off whenever the success that is Port Adelaide is mentioned.

I intensely dislike Norwood and their snobbish silvertail attitude but still even now look forward to a game against them. I can have a conversation with most Norwood supporters I know and actually respect some of their fans football knowledge.

The crows on the other hand I couldn't care if they suddenly were transported through a vortex to a parallel dimension as I am sure they could be replaced by another vacuous identity. I cannot stand what their "average supporter" reduces the game to and how the make the week before and after insufferable. We win (and they can't be found even to talk to rationally about the game) or we lose and they get an inch from your face digitally, figuratively, literally and rectally . That's not football that's not rivalry not even in the ballpark.

They could take the showdown out of the calendar and it wouldn't bother me one iota. I intensely dislike what the media and general pumpkin heads have turned it into.

My last word for the Norwood's of this world though ultimately comes back to that old adage.

YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE.

Question with the members pre sale tomorrow I'm going to use 3 I/state memberships to book my tickets for the game that will put all 3 of us together yeah?

That's the thing Norwood would have been a genuine rivalry built on begrudging respect.

Put it this way. IF the Crows were ever battling financial difficulties and looked like folding. I wouldn't care. A franchise is easily replaced. If it was Norwood in the AFL and battling I would buy a membership and donate to keep them afloat. There is history and rivalry and tradition there that is worth something

I don't want Norwood in the AFL. Those *s had their chance, and they squibbed it. Now they can rot in anonymity for all eternity. Any respect should have evaporated the day we learned they tried to backdoor their way into the AFL but then protested innocence that they never negotiated while we were hung out to dry. That's the attitude of a club with no backbone. The true Benedict Arnold of the SANFL.

Went to upgrade my Vic membership to a reserve seat for the Hawthorn game and between seeing a seat behind the goals to then trying to find a better one in another area it has said allocation exhausted!!! Surely not.

Norwood backed the SANFL believing that Port's 'treachery' would open the second spot for them.
There were those on The Parade that believed that that second license was still in reach as late as 2012.

Looking back at how PAFC was crippled from the outset and then made out to be a pariah within the football world, it makes you wonder wether there was a long game being played by the SNAFL to handover the license to the Redlegs if we fell over.

Should the crows rebrand and become Norwood?

Or has Norwood's brand and pride fallen away over the decades?

And Demetriou saw through their BS and said "* you campaigners, Port Adelaide is in this competition for a reason."

And some of you talk about respect.

I got up at 0600 Perth time and booked a day off work to upgrade 3 interstate membership tickets and got 3 in section 132.Pretty stoked with that but the club had emailed me a few weeks ago suggesting to get online as soon as tickets were available when I spoke to them about tickets to the Anzac Day game.Seemed a good selection available of tickets other then the areas that are all sold out obviously.

probs a noob question but one for anyone here who upgraded via the wait list. How do you upgrade 2 seats at once? I'm trying to pick seats for me and my brother but as they are different accounts when i add to cart it registers as leaving an open seat next to it and it won't go through? i tried calling port but am waiting for call back. anyone got an ideas?

I upgraded 3 at once just type in 1 barcode press tab or return then type in the next was pretty easy for me,I did have some issues to start with but worked fine for me.

It was in a box on the right of the screen where it says to enter the barcodes.Out of the 3 options to buy tickets I selected the 2nd one and went from there.

Adelaide's symbol looks like a handbag.

Not one of those 9 Centrals premierships is worth a pinch of s**t.

Heard from a Dogs fan in the thick of their era, awash with silverware and pokie dollars, that they had designs on promotion also.

And of course, earlier this month the official Norwood Twitter feed replied to a Port punter mocking their lack of AFL status with "never say never".

What planet are these clowns on?!

If Port Adelaide, as the biggest standalone club by miles, with 36 local premierships, 4 old-timey national titles, 1 AFL premiership and almost 150 years of history can almost go under due to the predatory business practices of the SANFL, how do these minnows reckon they'll go with the second third licence?

Utterly deluded.
