An increase in aerobic capacity isn't performance enhancing ??

Unless they are stupid enough to take during the season then no it won't increase their performance. It has a short life cycle, it's used to reduce fat and improve aesthetics. It's likely the boys were using it as a summer drug to have the rigs in order for the beach, absolute nuffies.

I suspect the players have eaten something to cause the positive tests.

Their actions thus far (allowing names to be put out etc) are hardly actions of guilty drug takers.

I could be wrong, just a hunch.

Essendon on the other hand....

I wonder how much tainted meat you'd need for a result, to whether it's a kilo of meat per day for a month, or just one sample.

Would be interesting if these guys travelled in the off season to some third world country, where tainted meat is more prevalent.

no-one seems to be focusing on the fact that it's thirty-four players. Thirty-three you can understand, it's a rogue player juicing on his own time. But thirty-four? Is it then naive to think there aren't others who are at least aware and probably involved? And they were on a trip offsite, where do thirty-four people independently source this stuff?

Cycling: Lance Armstrong failed four drugs tests in 1999, UCI admits

The International Cycling Union has defended its actions after it was confirmed that Lance Armstrong returned test samples with traces of corticosteroids four times during the 1999 Tour de France.
It had previously been known that the former US Postal rider, who in January confessed to drug use, tested positive for the substance once, but the UCI has confirmed a leaked internal memo stating that there were actually four positive tests.

still not how he was brought down. same with michael rass. guy was the biggest doper going around but it was his no show for a dope test that got him.

"Haha! Two Collingwood players have been caught! That is exactly the same as the systematic doping that occured at our club and not at all any different!"

- Essendon board, 2015

but what about natural justice

Essendon didn't get any and that was without positive tests.

Why the * should we start now when these 2 have returned a positive test.

You are astounding

No one has been found guilty of doping at Essendon. Nice try

systematic drug system and then a couple of blokes taking clen to lose a kilo or two. they seem to be on different levels

Yeah, clen is way worse.

If tomorrow the tribunal finds that TB4 was used at EFC but still let the players off for insufficient evidence regarding which exact players were injected with it, then IMO they should let off these 2 Collingwood players and everyone else that uses PEDs.

How unjust would it be that individual players who test positive for banned substances get banned, YET players involved in systemic PED program at their club get off because their club destroyed all records and it resulted in insufficient evidence as to which exact player recieved the banned stuff.

If EFC players get off for insufficient evidence whilst Dank is still found to have administered banned substances at EFC the it would be a farce.

So Essendon accused of taking a substance that allegedly aids recovery and with no positive tests.

Collingwood players return a positive test to a substance with anabolic properties that would no doubt enhance performance.
Pretty sure you won't find a "pharmacologically experimental environment" down at Pieland fwiw.

You've done well to write a post that is completely wrong in every sentence.

Stripping fat and being leaner isn't a performance enhancing effect? righto mate.

You can accidentally take it also, in small doses.

How does it directly improve their performance? If they are taking in season then yes, however due to the short life span of the drug it's generally used to improve aesthetics by creating a leaner, harder and dryer look. It's a drug to improve the way your body looks, the actual performance enhancing aspect is minimal if at all.

So are a Collingwood going to try and sue everyone in sight or man up and take responsibility?

How can you sue when there's a positive test? Gee, the calibre of some 'fans' on here.
