That's a very interesting story! There's probably a few people who frequent the Football Statistics board but don't venture into these parts who may not know of this revelation. Were you going to post this there as well?Did anyone else catch this story a few days ago?

I think it's very relevant for both boards. Either Stats Questions or especially Stats Observations would do, as long as it gets noticed.Yeah, I love both boards but I wasn't sure which one was most relevant. Do you suggest a particular thread I could put this in? Perhaps a few of the gurus on there may need to update their records as Col Hutchison appears to have done.
Here's all I can find (I can't promise it's a definitive list, however):-I wonder through time how many players have done what Brian Harris & Harry O'Brien have with their names? ...oh and 'Whiskers' Hocking.
Great work! Kristian Bardsley & Beau Maister are the only two I remember from your list. cheersHere's all I can find (I can't promise it's a definitive list, however):-
Bardsley (Anning), Kristian - North Melbourne/St Kilda
Beauchamp (Beacham), Tammy - Fitzroy
Haines (Heinz), George - Geelong/Melbourne/St Kilda
Lake (Harris), Brian - Hawthorn/Western Bulldogs
Lukas (Lukimitis), Andrew - Carlton/Fitzroy
Lumumba (O`Brien), Heritier (Harry) - Collingwood/Melbourne
Maister (Wilkes), Beau - St Kilda/West Coast
Rowan (Rowe), Paddy (Percy E.) - Collingwood
Port Adelaide's Jasper Pittard was Jasper McMillan-Pittard at the time he was drafted, but soon after changed his name, so I think he only ever played AFL as "Pittard".Great work! Kristian Bardsley & Beau Maister are the only two I remember from your list. cheers
This has him playing in the Richmond 1905 VFA Grand Final win as Bill LanFranchi:-Did Bill Lang the heavyweight boxer at the beginning of the 20th century play footy with Richmond under his given name William Lanfranchi or Bill LAng or both.
I had another matter to raise with the AFL Statistics people recently so asked if they could provide a DoB for Con Molan:- The story of Con Molan (Geelong) was revealed recently:- http://www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2015-03-27/the-cat-of-two-names. It says only that “He was born in October 1886” Do you have an exact DoB for him?
The response (from Steve Rodgers) was:- That Con Molan date-of-birth was 15 October 1886.
