In the main draw, Tennis Australia has decided not to take up the wild card on offer for the women’s singles, which has been given instead to France’s Manon Arcangioli, who had originally been awarded a wild card for qualifying.

Thanasi got our men's wildcard deservedly.

Aussie men qualies-
Saville vs Dustov[23]
Thompson vs Cecchinato
Mitchell vs Clezar
JP Smith vs Millman
Bolt vs Fratangelo
Kubler vs Puetz

Rogowska through to the 3rd round of qualifying after winning 3-6 6-3 6-4 over a French junior Andrianjafitrimo. She'll play Haddad Maia for a spot in the main draw.

Kyrgios having a tanty cos, understandably after his retirement from Nice, the media are questioning his fitness.

1st 1/4:
Kokki and Tomic both got qualies in the 1st round. If they both win that, they will face off in the 2nd round, with the winner to play Djokovic. Nadal and Novak in the same 1/4.

2nd 1/4:
Kyrgios to play Istomin in the 1st round and if he reaches the 3rd round, will face Murray. Duckworth to play a qualifier and a probable 1/4 final here between Murray and Ferrer.

3rd 1/4:
Softish part of the draw here. Nishikori and Berdych the top seeds. I pick Nishikori to make the final. Matosevic to lose to Belucci in the 1st round. With Fognini, Verdasco, Kohlschreiber and Tsonga in this section, there could be some fun matches to watch.

4th 1/4:
Wawrinka and Fed lead the seeds, would love to see a 1/4 final between the 2, but with Monfils to face Fed in the 4th round and GGL or Simon to face Stan, there could be some upsets in this section. Groth to play Cuevas here. Thiem also in this section and a potential 3rd round match with Monfils looms. That would be interesting.

Ok, well we got the Djokovic-Nadal quarter we were imagining. With Murray in the same half, going to make an interesting story who makes the final out of the bottom half. Quick mention of the Aussies:

Kyrgios vs. Istomin: Toughish first round, but Istomin hasn't had a great year so arguably he should win if injury free. Murray is waiting in the 3rd if he gets there.

Tomic vs. Qualifier: obivously don't know matchup here but Kokkanksis is a possible 2nd round match. Djokovic is a possible 3rd round match although I would favour Kokkanksis in that matchup on clay.

Kokkanksis vs. Qualifier: See above.

Duckworth vs. Qualifier: Watching him in Nice, it's pretty amazing he has played so much tennis on clay because his game doesn't suit it. Cilic waiting if he can it.

Matosevic vs. Bellucci: Might sneak into main draw of Wimby so not last direct main draw enterance yet but he'll lose this.

Groth vs. Cuevas: Is it grass season yet?

I'll do the women's in a moment

Very interesting top and bottom half of the draw, very stacked. How is this for a 3rd round match up for the #1 and #2 seed? Azarenka for Serena and Stosur for Sharapova. Potential crackers early in the tournament. Potential 4th round of Kvitova vs Keys could be an absolute ball bashing display. If Petra can get her teeth into this tournament, she is a shot. Casey faces Ajla in the 1st round and if Ajla continues her form from this week, a 3rd or 4th round is not out of the question. Suarez Navarro in the same 1/4 as Sharapova and that is a match I'd like to see. Jarka v Sam potential 2nd round. Once again a very interesting draw. Lot's of past finalists/winners spread throughout the draw.

Stosur vs. Brengle: She hasn't got an easy one here. Gajdsova in the 2nd and then Sharapova in the 3rd. Sadly won't be defending her 4th round points

Dellacqua vs. Tomljanovic: Been struggling with injuries and form, I can't see her winning over this "Aussie" who may have better strokes than her anyway

Gavrilova vs. Larsson: She is in great form and Lisicki/Puig waiting in the 2nd, should be interesting

Why don't we do a bit of a prediction game:

Men's winner/finalist: Nishikori def Murray
Women's winner/finalist: Kvitova def Halep
Best unseeded mens result: Juan Monaco
Best unseeded womens result: Gavrilova 4th round (total guess)
Which Aussie man will make it the furthest and what round will they make: Kyrgios 3rd round
Which Aussie womman will make it the furthest and what round will they make: Gavrilova 4th round
What round will Nadal make? Lose to Novak in the 1/4 final

Any idea when Kyrgios is playing and roughly what time?

Depends on the organisers, it is more likely to be Tuesday but some top half matches will be played tomorrow
