Hardwick, Simpson, Beveridge, Cameron and now Barker. Seeds of Clarko now account for over 1/4 of all Senior Coaches.

With Ratten and Bolton both excellent candidates for a top job, who will next be blessed by a seed of Clarko?

And more importantly - can Clarko actually coach, or is he just exceptionally good at picking assistant coaches?

Brett Ratten was a senior coach before he was Clarkson's assistant...

Barker has been under different coaches including Lyon.

Hawforn board thread.

Newsflash every successful side has been getting their assistants poached for the last 30 years.
Ross The Boss and Brendan McCartney were both assistants at Richmond. Back in the late 90's, we interviewed whats his face that coaches Melbourne for an assistant role, and immediately offered him the job. He turned us down, said he wasn't ready. Bomber said we were an unprofessional rabble and told us to GAGF, but took Macca with him just to rub the salt in. The karma bus hit him when he ended up coaching Essendon during their rabble era.

The head job eventually went to Spud Frawley :(

In fact, apart from lethal, none of the first wave of hawk coaches did much either

And clubs got Sanderson, McCartney, The Weapon, Hinkley from our successful era and Hinkley aside they weren't all that great. Football clubs are like sheep, get one club going well and all the middle and bottom clubs just try to copy it.

Where did Clarkson coach before Hawthorn ... He coached Central Districts in the SANFL and was an assistant coach at Port Adelaide for two years. So must have learnt something from Mark Williams.
Walsh & Richardson were assistants at Port Adelaide and are now senior coaches.
There are a lot of ex Port players now assistant coaches.
