Well that was another scrappy game. Flat as a tack.

Blues lose by 11.

Warning: Watch the player abuse. Use your words.

Didn't get to see the last two matches but surely we didn't play like that then ??

Just a lot of silly errors and poor decisions by our players, really could of set ourselves up in the second quarter but couldn't nail it on the scoreboard.

Final margin was a surprise, didn't expect us to be so close actually.

Could have been worse. You can't expect to play a bunch of kids and be totally consistent.

But no doubt there will be some who will want to drop them all.

They are our future, we must persist with them, the old codgers are our past now.

Holman may have a future, there were a couple of glimpses there tonight.

ugly game, did the Dogs use a full on flood? surprised how ordinary the Dogs were. I thought our effort was good, lacked polish obviously.

Yeah that's what I was saying about playing them in the gameday thread.

If we complain about the never improving skills of someone like Curnow, we can only replace him by getting experience into others who could one day do so. There's a few senior players who's skills are not up to it, but we'll keep on playing those guys unless we can get these kids going.

Skills were always going to be a worry, with so many young players not quite used to the pace of afl. I wouldn't be too worried with the result. We've got a bit to work with. Happy days ahead.

Especially in the midfield. Remember, we are missing Judd, Gibbs, Thomas & Carrazzo in the midfield...that is massive.
Add to that Menzel and Docherty and that is a lot of quality players out of the team.

Most of them replaced by youngsters and when you throw in so many at one time, things like structure and ball movement suffer.

Kreuzer's first half was terrific, drifted out of the match after half-time though, possibly a fitness issue ??

Graham was pretty good too, just needs to add that little bit of polish to his game and he will be a very dominant player.

Buckley has a big future ahead of him, just needs to keep applying himself over and over again.

That was one hell of a hard game to watch.

We showed none of the run and carry that we have since Barker took over. So many times we could have relieved the pressure from the backline if just some of the players put the effort to run past and receive the handball to break the lines, but we were so lazy tonight that we were all flat footed and had to resort to kicking the ball long at every opportunity the same way we did under MM.

Secondly, Boekhourst is not up to it. I don't say that lightly. If that first gamer from the Bulldogs can come on and collect 9 touches and a goal in the third term, then surely Boakhurst should have been able to at least not stuff up every possession he had.

After a couple of good weeks, Murphy goes back to his old self and is no where to be seen when it matters.

Our forward line which has looked so good the last couple of weeks was an absolute mess.
We let the bullies players stream back unaccounted and they just kept picking off our kicks and sweeping up the loose ball with no pressure from our forward players at all.

Not unhappy with that at all. Did not throw the towel in despite butchering it in front of goal. Copped injuries to Everitt and Cripps and lost a key defender before the game started on top of Carrazzo and Docherty from last week. A very inexperienced side that did okay. Was pleased with Boekhorst's second half.
