Or going to the library and having to search through the cards and if you borrowed a book they'd stamp it and write your name on it.
Or the good old bank passbooks. I remember my brother held out for so long he kept on getting asked if he wanted a debit card. He said no, just to annoy them.:p

I remember making mix tapes off the radio to play on my walkman, I remember when a nokia 5110 was the phone every kid wanted, I must have played hundreds of hours of snake on that thing.

When I where a lad, kids didn't get attacked by dogs, because dogs and kids where socialised! Well, sometimes kids did get bitten, but it was usually their fault.

Dogs used to roam the neighborhood, usually with their kid, we used to play together and therefore kids used to know how to treat a dog and dogs used to know how to treat a kid. They used to fill in as back men (a dog who could play forward was more special than Cyril oiled up and presented to Bruce on his king size posture pedic), were the nurse (a dog licked graze heals faster than an air cooled one), psychcologist, bodyguard and best mate! When that strange man used to pull up and ask you to help him look for his lost puppy, we either had it with us, or we could tell him to bugger off unless he had a big bag of 2c lollies - then our dogs would bail him up and we'd get the lollies for free!

These days, if your 50 kg German Shepherds walk beside you down the street, parents rush out and drag their brats inside - don't laugh, it's happened to me (and my dogs are the biggest kid licking sooks in the world) and if they dare bark at the idiot neighbor kids mates who are breaking into your garage then the neighbors don't call the police, they call the council to complain that your dogs are barking!

The world was a much better place when dogs and children knew their place, and adults just let us build forts and play doctors and nurses.

I remember growing up in mid high-school, which is only talking about 7 years ago.
Every single kid would kill for a Nokia N95, a couple years later and everyone in the schoolyard has an iPhone.

It's amazing how fast the world changes.

My first mobile was like a small brick.

What do you mean the Old Bigfooty?

A couple of years ago Bigfooty switched to a new forum software called xenforo. This is what we are using right now to all talk to each other.

Prior to that, bigfooty was running an old version of the software "vbulletin" - and it looked vastly different.

I still remember the night they did the upgrade pretty fondly. Bigfooty was down for like 6 hours and the new design was so hard to get used to.

I vaguely Remember the Change but I kind of Forgot how the old forum looked like.
