Added a lot of class that we needed throughout the year.
Look forward to what he can do if he stays healthy.
Not the best player, but he's silky and has great skills.

"This pre-season we've been able to train him a bit more as a midfielder since the Christmas break and he's coming along well," Rawlings said.

"We all know his talent. He's quite fit at the moment. He's strong, he's clean inside the contest and uses the ball really well.

"In possession, we know what he's capable of. It's just finding that balance with the other side of his game as well.

"He's got a good attitude, and we're all looking forward to him playing games and showing us what he can do."

Completely forgot about this so I'm playing a bit of catch up now.

ROUND 1 v Bulldogs
13 Disposals
6 Marks
4 Tackles
0 Goals
Went largely unsighted, but did some good things and some of his disposals were good, definitely looking better than last year

ROUND 2 v Carlton
16 Disposals
4 Marks
2 Tackles
0 Goals
Stats wise he was almost identical as last week which is strange considering the demolition of the Blues, he is being starved of a role in the midfield and spends most of his time HB or HF. Good disposal

ROUND 3 v Fremantle
20 Disposals
5 Marks
2 Tackles
1 Goal
His best game for the season and apart from a few stinkers, his disposal was brilliant at times including a fantastic goal. Is improving and along with being one of our best for the day he is hopefully building up to some good form.

those are promising signs. Its a shame so many of our other guys are doing so poorly. He would probably be going even better if our other guys lifted a bit.

Played in a back pocket all day and didn't really get much of it, but he was lively with ball in hand and disposed of it well. Hopefully this stint in the backline does him well and then he can return to the midfield with a bit more of a defensive, hard working mindset.

ROUND 5 v GWS

Sharrod is spending most of his time in the backline these days and it is serving him well. He played his best game for the season and possibly for the club off the half back flank. Some of his disposals were sublime but as usual he had a few shockers.

Missed the last two weeks but Sharron has given me some delicious material in my absence.

ROUND 6 v Port
22 Disposals
11 Marks
0 Tackles
0 Goals
In a mighty fine day for the Eagles, Wellington boots continued to shine for us in the backline and his game high 11 marks were a highlight.

ROUND 7 v Gold Coast
25 Disposals
2 Marks
3 Tackles
0 Goals
Another dominant performance from the Eagles and Steamed Wellinghams was once again one of our best. He is beginning to live up to the first round pick we gave up for him.

Unfortunately wasn't the most 'highlight' game of all time, but Wellingham was clear best on for us against North Melbourne. A lot of small things in defence as well as several dashing runs, some of which didn't make the cut due to heavily wind affected kicks going for deep boundary throw ins rather than hitting forwards. Great game from Wellers.

So now that I am am finally on uni break I can churn out some quality* Sharrod reviews for the past few weeks.
ROUND 9 v Geelong
23 Disposals
5 Marks
2 Tackles
0 Goals
Many Eagles had good/great games in Round 9 with the convincing win over the Cats. Wellingham continued his solid form and his resurgence is heartwarming. :hearts:

ROUND 10 v Norf
24 Disposals
4 Marks
0 Tackles
1 Goal
In a mildly depressing ending to Brad Scott Week, we were beaten by the enemy in some shanty whilst playing in Hurricane Katrina. Wellingham, however shone and was rated by most of BigFooty as the Eagles best in the irritating loss and contributed a ripper of a goal from 70 out.

ROUND 11 v Essendon
16 Disposals
6 Marks
2 Tackles
0 Goals
A quieter game, stats wise for Wellingham, but he was still a vital cog in the backline as the Eagles worked to redeem themselves from the week before.

ROUND 12 v 9thmond
15 Disposals
8 Marks
2 Tackles
0 Goals
Even though, once again, Wellingham's stats were on the lower end of the scale, he provided amazing zone work in tandem with Gov, Shep, Schofield and friends to combat the much feared(?) three talls that the Tigers have.

*may be the wrong word, rubbish is probably more fitting

ROUND 14 v Melbourne
24 Disposals
8 Marks
1 Tackles
0 Goals
Wellingham made his return to the 20+ disposal club and was, again, one of our best (even though finding our best was difficult given the good games played by all). Apart from him not seeing Brayshaw powering towards him after the opening bounce, he had a complete game off half back to use his pace and footskills to provide brilliant rebound.
