Went to games or to the pub when that wasn't possible. Or sometimes streamed it if that wasn't an option either.
The Corbett Report and other similarly independent, well-researched, and non-sensationalist alternative media sites.
Obviously wary of disinformation specialists such as Alex Jones. While I watch some mainstream news, it is usually taken with a grain of salt when it comes to geopolitical news, particularly terrorism, trade issues and the like.
I find that mainstream news talks within the story/event rather than delving deep into a story, for instance discussing the potential role of the financial beneficiaries from large scale events and geopolitical decisions. Investigative journalism has been almost completely quashed in mainstream reporting circles.

the irony of course is that's it's only people that agree with bits and pieces of alex jones' nonsense who will simultaneously argue he's "disinfo". like, they realise what he talks is bullshit, but as they subscribe to some of that bullshit, then jones must be sent by The Man to obfuscate The Truth. In this way a conspiracy theorist bring jones et al into their world view narrative, instead of reaching the far more likely conclusion- that they themselves believe in stupid nonsense.

Soooo, because he propagates some absolute nonsense and distorts the facts in other topics, this means that all the topics per se that he touches upon have to be invalid to investigate, or as per the mainstream narrative? That is not a rational display of cognition there. Do you also believe that the multinationals who own 90 odd percent of the world's media will inform you completely and truthfully when they have vested interests in geopolitical manoeuvres?

haha. there's a pretty big difference between accepting AJ is a nutcase who may (very) occasionally be onto something (in which case, far far better sources are available), and weaving his nuttiness into a conspiracy where AJ is really just a disinfo agent, designed to obfuscate “the truth”. You have done the latter in the post I quoted.
What kind of stupid question is that? and what does it have to do with your claim that AJ is disinfo? Reality check buddy: you find it more palatable to accuse AJ of disinfo, rather than accept your own nonsense opinions (that AJ concurrently espouses) are actually nonsense. Instead of accepting that fairly obvious truth, you dig further down the rabbit hole of stupidity.

I never watch Infowars, and in fact learnt quickly not to trust it. As regards the bolded part of your quote, my initial post in this thread mentions the type of people I trust. James Corbett for a start. Always well researched and cited. Always balanced with reason. No fear mongering, just an ongoing discussion of the real world and the events that are shaping history as we type.

I've recently started watching the John Oliver show and it's pretty great. There is investigative journalism conducted that would put any commercial media in Australia to shame!

Haven't watched the news on TV for at least 6 years.

Haven't even watched any TV for at least 4 years other than AFL and a couple of sports.
