Eastern FL - Division 2 2017

Lads, every since the commentary on alleged "drug use" in the EFL after some random testing, this post has gone into winter silence. Surely the couch punchers on this thread are not that intimidated from comments on other threads that silence is the best option. There is still a season to cover off. So what's the top four in Div 2, who wins the silverware, who gets the medal, and who goes to div 3. Still some footy to be played lads

I think relegation is signed and sealed.

Will be a good contest between Doncaster and Croydon for the premiership.

Also interesting to see who makes up the 4, but I doubt anyone will challenge those top 2 seriously.

Make or break for Mooroolbark and Waverley this week

Everyone have a look at this http://www.foxfootyclubrewards.com.au/

If your club has done a community initiative (raised money for something etc) then you can become part of this program and win prizes like meeting senior AFL coaches, having a coaching seminar, or training at AFL clubs headquarters.

Entries close this Sunday so get onto it! No catch or anything

Also think it is a two horse race and there is quite a margin to the rest of the field. Will be a great GF if Doncaster & Croydon can get there in good shape. The side that doesn't win this season, will be odds-on for 2016 - currently both would be very competitive with the bottom half of Division 1. Doncaster East treading water, which is no surprise to me. Bayswater look set, but that final spot will be interesting but in the overall scheme of things won't amount to much.

Medal - don't know, as there has been some funny results over the years & therefore have given up on predictions. Top two sides will dominant the votes, but they could be spread all over the shop which is the reason why they are better sides.

Rams incredibly brave today, showed great intensity & heart for the whole day. Just a little bit of class got us over the line. Great crowd in the rooms after the game, and appears to have been a great day. Well done to those involved.

Have I done a job on Bayswater, Scoresby have been working towards a win just didn't think it would be today. Days like this is why people are reluctant to have a crack Vander.

Great result for Scoresby and The Rams oh so close, 7 points up well into the last with a couple of lads carrying grubby chest bugs and they nearly snagged a big fish. Positive for the club even if they are relegated there is still something to take out of the year.

Has anyone heard any news on the Waverley lad who was injured in the first quarter against the Rams. Looked serious. And The Rams need to forget any game plan being implemented, if there is one and just stick with TRY AND KICK IT TO A BLOKE WEARING THE SAME COLOUR JUMPER

Got out of hospital on Wednesday.. Has to wear a neck brace for a few weeks. Has a bruised spinal cord and a disc that is putting pressure on it also. The doctors are recommending surgery.. but he is taking a few weeks to decide. Was good to see him up and about at the club last night.. but not the sort of thing that anyone wants to see.

fantastic effort by scoresby to get up. looking down the barrel a few weeks ago and being 2 wins plus percentage behind and peg it back shows they have a lot of fight left in them.
Quite ironic two former powerhouses of Divvy 1 fighting out a relegation battle in Divvy 2.
If EB do go down it might not be a bad thing . Start from scratch and rebuild with juniors.

Calthorpe gone. Wasn't happy with the direction and lack of support from club speaking on Saturday.
Tough situation

Seriously how many coaches will East Burwood go thru. Maybe the Committee need to look at themselves.

Is there any truth that Calthorpe had to be physically restrained from approaching the umpires coming off at the end of the game?
Heard he was quite upset and they were not sure how far he was going to go

Wow, has this been a year The Rams will not want to remember. But they will for all the wrong reasons. Not yet confirmed if the coach has gone, but if he has, the folk who are running the show need to get in front of the reflective glass and take some time to really absorb the image. The season has just been one big disaster. If they have paid their power bill, could the last person out the door turn off the light

Word on the street is that Zig & Zag have been approached to run the club for the 2016 season. So it's going to be a new look Rams, juggling, face painting and funny hats. That's what you get when clowns are in charge. Same same

What has happened at the Rams? After they pushed us a few weeks ago I expected that their was enough cattle to survive (still could be).

Decision not to reappoint for 2016 after the loss last week?
Any chance of expanding as to the circumstances?

Bobby B, you are on the money. They have the cattle. There are some terrific young kids to work with and once the centre set up is properly structured they can challenge some of the better sides. 7 points up against Doncaster middle of the last quarter tells me they have the cattle. But the game plan under the the last coach was just plain dumb. When you have a 100kg mid fielder who plays straight ahead, why would you start him in the pivot goal side facing towards the opposition. Doesn't make sense and the opposition kick out was the stuff Enid Blytonn would have been proud of. Yea I know it's easy to ping from the stands but these observations are not just grumpy supporter stuff, it's bloody obvious. Tough ask for the lads this weekend but wish them all the best under the stand in coach.

Croydon, whoever you play against next week, why not try something different than today i.e. make a ******* effort. East Burwood
and Scoresby are clubs that kick one goal for a match, not Croydon. Switch on.

Not sure any 2nd Division side would have got close today - incredible effort by the boys today. Hopefully peaking when it matters.

Perhaps Croydon would do better concentrating on the pill rather than some of that rubbish that was served up in the last. Some of the guys involved were not sighted all day, so perhaps they just wish to announce they were actually on the ground. Not sure what purpose that served, but it has been noted. ;)

. What a smashing. I wouldn't be too worried if I was croydon as long as they get through. Grand Finals are different ball games.
What happened in the last quarter bobby?? They obviously went the knuckle. Any reports or send offs??

Thoughts on Croydon V Donny East on Sat? Doncaster East any chance?

Not sure they shouldn't be too worried Dick. We are likely to only get stronger, but you are right anything on the day. Would prefer to be with us than against us.

Frustration got the better of a few in the last. Some got sent off as did one of ours for retaliating. The only end result I saw of the actions was to only strengthen the resolve of a very driven group.

The EFL media team have received their wish of a Doncaster derby grand final next week, Ben Warren-Smith would've found a good
alternative to Viagra with the result today. Sad day for the Croydon FC, hope they can bounce back next season.
