Great win by Williamstown earlier today.
2 goals down at half time & they kicked 13 goals to 4 in the 2nd half.
Final score:
Williamstown - 20.8 (128)
Essendon - 13.6 (84)

Willie Wheeler best on ground for mine.

So what does everybody think about the rest of the season? I did the ladder predictor on their website just now and came up with:

Williamstown 15W, 3L, 60 pts, 138.46%
Box Hill 15W, 3L, 60 pts, 133.98%
Essendon 13W, 5L, 52 pts, 142.69%
Sandringham 13W, 5L, 52 pts, 118.69%
Footscray 12W, 6L, 48 pts, 133.93%
Collingwood 12W, 6L, 48 pts, 100.77%
Port Melbourne 11W, 7L, 44 pts, 109.35%
Casey Scorpions 9W, 9L, 36 pts, 108.06%
Werribee 8W, 10L, 32 pts, 103.75%
Geelong 8W, 10L, 32 pts, 82.95%
Coburg 6W, 12L, 24 pts, 78.87%
Northern Blues 5W, 13L, 20 pts, 91.57%
Richmond 4W, 14L, 16 pts, 84.27%
North Ballarat 4W, 14L, 16 pts, 67.15%
Frankston 0W, 18L, 0 pts, 45.18%

Seems pretty good, only I would maybe have Casey and Port swapped around. Casey are travelling well at the moment and Port are struggling.

Footscray would probably fancy their chances of sneaking a top four berth at the expense of Sandy or Essendon. That will be very interesting.

Since Essendon are playing 3 of the bottom 4 in their last 7 games you'd back them to get good results, along with Werribee (who've won 1 out of their last 4), Geelong (who they beat by 92 points) and Footscray twice. Get one win against Footscray and top 4 is guaranteed.

Admittedly I didn't look at the draw, just I think Footscray's best is probably better than Essendon's best. If Footscray were to beat Essendon twice it would definitely make things tight, but 1 or 2 wins to Essendon and you're right, they should be fine for top four, unless they inexplicably lose to say 2 of the bottom teams.

Essendon have lost all their games against top 4 rivals so far this season (unless you count Collingwood) so I see what you mean. You guys got lucky that goal was allowed round 1 -_-. That might cost us top 4.

Sandringham and Essendon kick 15 last quarter goals between them to record come from behind wins against Richmond and Geelong respectively. Footscray 33 points down late in the last quarter against Coburg. Top 4 log jam might be clearing a little.

Saw the score between Geelong and Essendon at 3QT and thought, "Great, Geelong are gonna do us a massive favour here!". Then I looked at the end of the game,:eek:. Fair to say I was a bit annoyed.

Sandy becoming the last quarter specialists. :)

And Coburg with a great 45 point win over Footscray! Great to see a stand alone ex-VFA team getting a good win.

Williamstown were also very good against their old rivals in Port Melbourne.

So how big is Footscray vs Essendon at WO next week?

Essendon win and they go top 3 and an easy draw against Frankston, Werribee and Richmond amongst their last 4 games, making it hard to see them displaced from the top 4 and could possibly host a final if results go their way.

Footscray win and the race is wide open once again.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but go Bombers!

When (not if) Ben Allan is selected at either the AFL National or Rookie draft in November 2015 it should say "Ben Allan from Coburg FC" instead of "Ben Allan from Calder Cannons"

But no doubt the AFL will ensure that it says Calder Cannons.

He has learnt to play football at Coburg against men and looks a different player to the one I saw play for the Cannons at the start of the year.

His pace and line breaking abilities are major reasons why the Lions have won their last two games.

Nick O'Kearney from Calder Cannons/Keilor FC will be playing for Coburg in the next few weeks too. Nick will likely be a top 25 draft prospect at seasons end. Will be good to see how he goes against men too.

Big win today by the Burgers may have knocked Port Melbourne out of finals contention.
You can shout me down in flames for this but I don't care, it's still possible. 8th spot isn't as secure to Casey as one might think. Coburg are only 12 points behind and are running into some very good form with 4 games left.

Casey have Box Hill, Williamstown, Coburg and Sandringham.
Coburg have Frankston, Richmond, Casey and North Ballarat.

That round 19 clash at Piranha Park looks like it could decide the fate of the finals.

Yeah, Coburg do actually have a very soft draw. Would be great to see them somehow sneak in as a stand alone club, and coming from 3-9 as well.

Saw this today on Frankston's wikipedia page:

"2015 - Dissolved - after an altercation at the Frankston - Geelong game the Frankston Football club announced they would disolve at the end of the 2015 VFL Season Since the VFL merged with the AFL Reserves competition in 2000, Frankston has been unique amongst all VFL clubs in that it has never been involved in a reserves affiliation with an AFLteam."

Here's a link:

Is there any truth to this? I know they've recently undergone massive facility development and council cash injection at their ground so was a little shocked when i read this.

I can't find it either, wikipedia is not really trust worthy but then again i'm not sure someone would write it just to troll Frankston's wikipedia page

it's been removed now anyway
