The annual John Longmire Medal count was held on Saturday night for the best and fairest award for the Harbour City Hornets.

Before the winners are announced, the club would like to congratulate Brendon Goddard, Jack Gunston & Jordan Lewis with their selections in the AFTTM All Australian Team, great reward for consistent years !

We would also like to congratulate James Kelly for his Norm Smith Medal win in the grand final, unfortunately it wasn't enough to get us the ultimate glory, but then there is always next year guys.

Onto the Award winners, the winners for the night were;

Best 1st Year Player, was a close count as the Hornets made a strategic decision to trade early round draft picks last trade & draft period.

2016 Season Launch

Harbour City Hornets held their 2016 Season Launch last night at Darling Harbour for all the fans, coach Knobby welcomed new players Eddie Betts, Matt Crouch, Richard Douglas, Riley Knight, Josh Watts, Matt Taberner, Isaac Smith, Dean Kent, Sam Gray, Nick Smith, Lin Jong, Will Minson, Michael Rischitelli & Koby Stevens.

New Draftees Sam Skinner, Harry McKay, Darcy Tucker, Kieran Lovell, Riley Bonner and mature age recruit Dean Towers were also welcomed

Coach Knobby also announced the leadership group with Jordan Lewis being named captain for another year with Aaron Sandilands, Brad Ebert & Leigh Montagna as his vice-captains.

Looking forward to the year ahead coach Knobby said Grand Final action last season has increased their desire of the players to take it one step further.

Bring on 2016, footy is back finally !
