Precisely!

How bout top 2 each of epl, liga, bundes, ligue, serie a.

Too elitist?
10 teams? Far too few.

Top 3 from those leagues get auto qualification, 4th place from those leagues play off for the last spot would work

Arsenal should be 1-0 up if it wasn't for Theo's scuff. Other than that, yeah Newcastle have hardly been troubled.
Cech is likely to maintain a clean sheet for my fantasy

You still need to have other leagues represented, if only to keep it fresh. The problem is the group stage coming too early, or in my opinion existing at all. Axe the Europa farce and just have a straight, single-leg knockout competition, with all current European qualifiers entering progressively. Instantly every game is meaningful, and even filthy rich clubs can't treat Bulgarian minnows with contempt, lest their youth team get shown up and cost them £20m. Less is more doesn't seem to be getting much traction with the suits in charge though.

It's easy to say Chelsea are in trouble but considering they've already faced good top half teams so far, the results aren't a total shock. Their defence is a weakness, they need to drop Ivan and start woth Baba. Stones is looking unlikely too

im secretly hoping Melbourne City draw Heidleberg in the FFA cup so i can wander down, dodge the shoplifters at northland and watch the boys in a suburban grassy terrace.

Novillo, Koren, Mooy and the new Uragyan Fornaroli look a potent front end. Hope they can get it together.

my dream materialised. w00p

I have to admit, the FFA Cup is nailing it so far. The idea is great, especially having games played at the lower-ranked home ground, which is great for local clubs. Also the timing is really good too. The big clubs are still in pre-season for the early rounds (but with no other games on can still put out strong teams), whilst the smaller clubs are already up and running, which levels it out somewhat.

It's great, was discussing with Mates the other day it could never work in afl because of the style of our game, the difference between suburban and elite to great, and scores too high. But in football, it's possible to park all behind the ball, resist all game and break on one counter to steal a win. Pretty unforgiving soccer, can dominate a game and only score a goal.... Go down to one silly moment at the other end
