The only team playing well really at the moment is city so there's another positive.

This Walcott experiment can only work if we play counter attacking football which we never ever do. He is hardly involved. Perhaps if you start giroud and Walcott in a front two, that may have some more success or Walcott on the right with Giroud lone striker and interchanging throughout the game for more fluidity.

Walcott certainly wasn't helped by the red card. If the game stayed 11 v 11 and we had a chance to counter attack then he would have come into play, very surprised that he wasn't subbed for Giroud at half time (or that Giroud didn't start). Game like that required someone with the x factor to break down the defence and not having Ozil was a shame, Wilshere's dribbling would have come in handy too.

Win is a win at the end of the day, Chelsea and Liverpool dropping points at home was a nice bonus. City were never going to not beat Watford at home so not bothered by that. 2 days to go, lets see what AW has up his sleeve.

Walcott can be an asset as he is one of the few in our squad that makes a run in behind the defence (along with Welbeck). Ox and Sanchez rarely do it - they prefer to run at defenders.

Obviously, it is a lot easier to do that out wide when you only need to beat the full back rather than the entire defence. So play him out wide FFS.

Not sure exactly why we have started so poorly, 1 goal in 4 games luckily we have managed to notch up 2 wins but yeah we really need to get some transfers happening and fast.
We ended in poor form last season as well except for against Villa and with West Brom on holidays.

Our winning run to snatch 3rd last season was littered with average performances and lucky 2-1 and 1-0 wins. And we completely died in the ass in the last few games (i.e. Chelsea and Swansea and others we failed to score in or rarely looked likely).

We were extremely lucky to nab 3rd last season and this season is looking similar.

Disagree - we were winning games comfortably and looking good up until that boring game in Burnley.

There were 2 or 3 nervy games in that run but that's too be expected in a competitive league. But we had some very good results especially at home against Stoke, Villa, West Ham, Liverpool, Everton, etc.

That Liverpool game was magical I was watching it with a friend who supports them always going on about the 5 European cups they've won and how they smacked us the season before, Then Bellerin curled in that wonderful goal and Ozil hit that free kick and Alexis smashed in that screamer he left at half time and I was super pumped gave him a lot of s**t was a great game to watch.

We were in very good form at that stage, the good run started after that disaster in the champions league it sort of snapped us back into reality and we started to play good football for a long stretch of time.

The positives are that we can't play much worse than we have in the first 4 games and Liverpool/Chelsea have been just as dire as we have been so the damage has been negated somewhat.

Another positive is that unlike both of those teams we haven't spent money to look this bad......

We also have 2 clean sheets in a row - Gabriel looks a good defender, it looks like Gab/Kos partnership could be a goer by seasons end.

(Staying positive today)

Never happen. He's not a passer, doesn't fit into our side, it's why Schneiderlin was the one we were always linked to and never Wanyama

This. Wouldn't have agreed with this in the past but it's true.

Spurs are in for Wanyama because their DM options at the moment are Dier (lol) and Mason (lollll) with Bentaleb horribly out of form.

Not so sure. I remember both 2-1's v. Newcastle and Palace being very fortunate. We were scoring regularly off corners and set pieces and not so much open play. That lead to a dry-up at the end of the season, which is the same issue we have now.
