He's the one who put off contract talks to test the FA waters.

Originally that's correct. The club did put a contract offer to him but it's reported this morning (I think by AFL.com.au) that the club has withdrawn its offer. I presume the club has learned of an offer from a rival club made to Suckling (his agent probably informed the club) and the club does not intend to lift its offer to meet the offer from the other club.

From The Age:

The Hawks have shown some interest in Carlton's Chris Yarran, but sources familiar with Yarran's situation said Yarran was "highly unlikely" to be traded to Hawthorn since he was all but committed to joining Richmond, subject to a trade being struck with the Blues.

Very little X factor there. Most of those are good but very workmanlike. Not much to fear.
LOL.

If we had that group lining up to join us we'd have pulled our old fellas off in excitement.

Collingwood leads the way with third party deals. Outside of the salary cap upon signing these guys get free Holden's, free first class Emirates flights, and the one's who enjoy doing media get a ch9 contract. Plus they are the biggest club in the country, building a solid young list. They are going to be a force in the not too distant future.

In other news, it looks like the Saints are this years lucky entrants into the "who wants to waste an entire trade period trying to negotiate with the Bombers" game.

They'll learn their lesson.

We should be getting more games into Anderson, Sicily, Langford, Howe & O'Rourke. These guys are just as talented as most of the guys on the trade table. Suckling leaving is not a massive loss as Hartung would step straight into his spot. Keeping Schoey should be a priority as he gives our team great structure and is developing nicely in his rightful spot at CHF. Still think we should of kept Lake for 1 more year (no obvious replacement) but we must move on.

Rather a free Audi

I am surprised they only wanted St Kilda's first pick and not their first pick, second pick and Jack Billings.

With the Carlisle trade, apparently Saints have said pick 5 is off the table. If that is the case would we like to enter as a third party for eg:

Hawks give our pick 18 to saints for their first round pick next year. They then give bombers pick 18 and their second for Carlisle. Not sure if it adds up but is it a possibility?

Woody to be rookie listed? EDIT - according to the article we will if we can

Interesting Hardisty got the chop yet JML barely played and is still on the list
