Matty_Boy08 is spot on.

I haven't played there for about 2 months due to other commitments (boy do I miss it), so I haven't had a chance to chat to with Brendan (the guy who runs it) to get the full in's & outs of what is happening.

Not good for us Poker players here is SA

Lets hope they can find a way to get it up & running again.

If I hear anymore, I will post.

Was having a chat with someone last night, the reason Poker SA cancelled the diamond event was due the Maylands hotel being sold and the new owners didn't want Poker SA playing out of their hotel.
So I'm told, they have found a new venue (no idea where it is) but it will take approx 4 weeks to get this place up and running.

Once again, I was told that the new legislation is still making its way through parliament.

Nothing announced so far regarding a new Poker SA venue. There will always be the casino if you're looking for a game.

Went there Saturday night.
Whenever I feel bad about giving my cash to Packer all I need to do is go play a couple of hours cash at Adelaide or Brisbane to see the error of my ways!

New venue found...
Matchroom which is in the CBD.
I have never been to this place so I have no idea what it's like.
Not open yet as PSA are doing some renos on the place.
Will be interesting to see what this place is like when it opens.....it has a fair bit to live up to after the Maylands

POKER SA opened back up last night, as an outsider in Melbourne, seems like they got over their hiccup.
Keen to have a look when i'm in Adelaide in January, hopefully they have games on Sunday's.

Great deal. I'll be heading there instead of the casino next time I play for sure. Casino rake would definitely be >$90/hr plus it reduces table stacks.

Usually 10 or 15 percent is this correct?
work it out you would have a number of $100 pots in an hour. Would almost be the same?
I just think if you're not in a hand for an hour it would pay to be paying rake?

Casino rakes 10% capped at $15 for their 2/2 game, so 20 hands/hour and $45 avg pot would cost the same as $10/hr charge. I'm pretty confident in saying that actual hands/hr and avg pot would be higher than that so a flat charge works out cheaper.

Plus Poker SA don't take the charge from table stacks so the game plays deeper - that's an advantage for the better players.

The only problem with cash games at PSA, it's the same people playing day in day out, week in week out. It wouldn't be too bad for you guys from interstate if you come every now and then, but in all honesty for me, I prefer the Cas for a cash games.

Also, you need to be a member to play at PSA, it's a $10 fee. I think this is a type of loop hole thing, where it might not be deemed a "Public Place" if you have to pay a membership fee to enter.

I know what you mean about the people who basically lived at the PSA cash tables when it was at Maylands. Hopefully the city location and lower hourly charge might encourage some new blood, especially Friday nights. I never played cash at Maylands, only tournaments.

I didn't make it to PSA while in Adelaide, Just had no time!! not many ppl would believe that being in Adelaide lol.
Second time in Adelaide and I loved it!! I would consider living in Adelaide.
Off topic sorry.
Anyway I see that PSA has released the schedule for diamond series. The rake is huge!!!
$2000/$400 - with diamond ring coming out of the rake which is worth 10k.
My only objection is, if you end up with 100 players which is really not out of the question by any means you end up with 40k. 30k for dealers and food over the 2 days is massive!!! I believe next tournament it should be cut.

It seems as that I wasn't the only one.
They have changed the event to 2100/300
Well done PSA!!

Went in and played the $60 buy in last night. Only 15 runners last night. They said numbers were down because they had a series last week. It was my first time at the venue

Had some monster hands and finished 3rd

Had 78 in the BB and a few players limp. 5 6 Q flop. SB bets small. I call. Turn 9. SB shoves. I snap call. He has 56. I hold

Was in the BB and was 6 handed (2 tables though) and 4 of the players limped. I wake up with AA and raise. All but 1 call. Get it all in on a K high flop and get called by a K5hh and turn an A to lock it in. Nice

Get KK a bit later and raise. Guy to my left calls. SB calls. Flop K 9 K. Check it round. Turn J. SB bets. I flat. Guy to my left calls. SB checks, I bet big, guy to my left calls and SB folds. I show quads and he shows AJ. Nice hand that. Rare to be paid after flopping quads

Played pretty ABC all night. Got it in good every time i was in a hand except a blind vs blind where he has 6K more (blinds are are 4K/8K) and i have to call his shove with 57cc. He has 97.... I river a 5.....Nice one again

Eventually out 3 handed with A7 on button. KQ in SB calls and he flop the Q and i can't find the A

Doubled my money with $120. Play was about what you'd expect in a $60 tourney....

Fun night
