IMO ...

Holden centre phase 4:

Open up one of the seating banks inside the Holden Centre. The old glasshouse used to have a seating capacity of 11,000. Minus the deck area, minus areas overlooking the pool, capacity would probably be around to 4,000 per side. That's still a few. Is all the gym equipment being moved out to the new Glasshouse gym? That would potentially enable it. Having seating area for 4000 would allow the club to bring the fans together for occasions and events - eg: watching interstate games: put on a show, create an atmosphere. CFC do seem to be getting into the venue hire business, so this could also potentially provide a revenue stream.

Holden centre phase 5:

Give the joint a lick of paint. It's looking really old and tired on the outside. This would help capitalise on phase 4's potential for venue hire, and also the "Holden Centre" sponsorship value.

Holden centre phase 6:

If phase 4 is successful and bursting at the seams, then open up the other side.

Holden centre phase 7:

Museum in the area where the old cafe / bar used to be ... maybe. As I've written elsewhere, it'd be good to see the club make forever.collingwood.com.au sustainable first before attempting this. I'd also prefer the club run temporary museums for a few seasons (temporary exhibitions are mobile, they can be taken interstate, folks make more of an effort to go to them)

A car park for Travis Cloke.

Why didn't the club build a carpark under the Olympic Park oval while they had the opportunity? It would have cost a bomb, but it would have been a fantastic revenue earner.

It's a prime parking location (tennis centre, AAMI stadium, MCG, New Glasshouse venue hire, access to city). Good for CFC members and fans (game day, special club events). Good entry / exit access on Swan St and Monash Freeway.

There probably would have been some killjoys in the local / state government or Olympic Park trust who would have sunk it.

Its ironic considering it was a car park

That must have been a very long time ago?

It was the athletics training track for the 1956 Olympics, and retained in that general configuration right up until the time we demolished it?

To answer my own question ...

... The Burnley tunnel runs under the northern side of the oval. There are probably clearance issues.

A brothel??

True story:

Many years ago I lived in the Andalusian region of Spain. It's one of those wonderful pockets of planet earth where the quality of life is as high as the economic output is low. European money started flooding into the region to try and raise the standard of infrastructure in line with European standards - and the local government duly invested the money the best way they knew how - by building brothels.

It became quite a scandal in Brussels when they found out - and the local Andalusians didn't seem to understand what all the fuss was about and became quite indignant about it. (Upgrading roads? Why would we want to do that? )

True story
In Rome, back in the 16th century, the sister in law of the Pope convinced him that it wasn't right for the Pope to be collecting all the taxes from the brothels, and persuaded him to give the rights to her.
(They were lovers)

She made a massive fortune, and became one of the most powerful women of the time, amassing a huge art collection, which is still intact today in its original setting in the Palazzo Daria Pamphilj in Rome

Gee, its not like the Church to be involved in something dodgy MG?

Have you read the Book "In Gods Name" by David Yallop?

So Eddie wants to take us away from VIC Park and to the Holden Center for the VFL now?

There is literally no mention of the VFL in the post you quoted. How on earth did you jump to that conclusion, especially given that these are posters suggestions, and not official club plans?

Ha ha the Yallop book, fake of course but a great read.
For what it's worth, John Paul l was a GREAT decent man, Albino Luciani, but had unknown heart trouble, died as people do. Just happened to be pope at the time. Was a humble god man. The real deal akin say to Pope Francis now. Anyway that was an aside.
But yallop made a career of conspiracy theory.
Provides (.the book) a backdrop to Godfather lll as a plot theme with the movie changing the cardinal name, kept same vote tally etc.

Inside, the outside stands that made up the old Olympic Park were knocked down.

Also, I know there's lots of heritage overlays, but it would be nice if the green seats were replaced in club colours. It doesn't look like they're original.

Eventhough you missed the point I was making ...

... The answer to your question is "yes": for double header games. It was announced at the members forum that any games where the AFL and VFL are being played on the same day, they'll try to play the VFL game at the Holden Centre.
