I was appalled to see Channel 7 doing some 'special investigation' on the Anita Cobby case. Can they not let that poor woman rest in peace? Abducted, tortured, brutalised, degraded, raped and murdered. The monsters who committed this unspeakable crime have been caught long ago and locked up for life. What is there possibly to tell?

This is nothing but disgusting and disgraceful exploitation.

Yeah, true crime can serve a purpose and has its place, but in situations like this it's the worst kind of pornography.

Agreed.

From what I saw, this was about a couple of the grubs who committed the murder had complained about how they were being treated in prison ? Along with the usual lawyer interview stating how unfair life in prison was due to the past law (where life was for life)

Those animals shouldn't even be mentioned in the media, or anywhere for that matter.

You won't get any argument from me about that Adam.

What makes it worse is you've got lawyers saying some of em deserve parole, in my opinion nah sorry they don't. Moving them to the minimum security prisons they don't deserve either. You'll have people say that's inhumane etc but some acts the perpetrators don't deserve humane treatment this is one of them.

Watching Molly and the late 1960's and early 70's. Keating was right, Australia was in a torpor during the Menzies years and next 6 years after he left.

I know capital punishment isn't the flavour of the month in Australia any more, but I wouldn't think too many people would bat an eyelid if it had been applied in this case.

Hmm, for many countless, hours people have been searching for the "yeti, abominable snowman, sasquatch, bigfoot or yowie" in all parts of the world, some guy manages to capture a "yeti" on video for a whole... 3 seconds.

I remember reading somewhere when the judge gave out his ruling on the snowtown murderers, he said if given the chance he would've gladly given them the death penalty. I don't know if it were true, given the horrific nature of the crimes, it doesn't seem too far fetched a comment.

It would save a helluva lot of taxpayer dollars - same goes for Martin Bryant.

I don't know the exact figure of keeping a person in prison but i know it's a lot more than it ought to be.

edit... quick google (which had oddly specific search recommendations) says $292 per prisoner each day.
