Kim Hughes' average of 37.41 belies how good he was. He played 70 test matches and 11 of them were against the West Indies, with his last 9 test matches all against them ! He averaged 41.19 which was a decent average in those days prior to starting those last 9 matches.

Glorious to watch when he went down on the knee to drive.

The demise of Kim Hughes was really sad. I remember it got to the point where he acknowledged the crowd when he got off the mark in an ODI.
